As far as how long we plan to produce these, the market, consistency, and availability of the wheels are very important to us. Because of that, our focus on these initial standard offerings is to offer a track wheel that doesn't change to keep up with styling trends. When we've bought race wheels for our team cars, it's been frustrating when we find a style that's no longer available. We know that disappointment, and that is definitely not our approach with the TA16s. |

What do the 9.5's weigh?! COME ON MAN. You know we care about every last ounce.
The TR MT1's are my favorite cheapish track wheel and they're no longer produced and hard to find use in 18x10. Glad to hear these will be around for a while. I think you guys made the right design choices. Curious if these are billet adn as simple as sending the CAD specs to a given manufacturer should you decide to crank out another batch RE Apex availability, yeah it seems great now and it does seem to be great in general. But, for instance, if you had purchased a set of 17x10's from them and boogered one up, you would be SOL right now until the next container comes in with some on them, if they ever order more. Honestly I'm just happy all these different manufacturers have decided 18x10 ET25/10.5ET27/9.5ET22 are the "Industry Standard" so we can be sure we'll have lots of wheels that at least fit the same for years to come

I just wish Bimmerworld would consider a reduced-cost replacement policy to the original owner at least in the first year or two of ownership if there is non-crash-related damage to the rim. Track wheels are sort of unique. It's one of those things you sell knowing they are going to take a pounding. Offering replacement at a reduced price that still covers BW's costs and helps a user is a good-will gesture that builds loyalty. I certainly keep going back over and over to vendors that I feel have my back. I view these rims as a viable "next step" option beyond Arc-8's---lighter, higher-value production process, hopefully stronger and still reasonable cost. But Apex has a policy in place that really helps the buyer that you can't ignore if you want users to upgrade to your wheels. Anyway, I'm not trying to badger you. I'm a Bimmerworld customer. I love your Premium Race studs. I was breaking other studs on a regular basis. That all stopped when I moved to your studs. I think the TA16 is a nice looking wheel, with very nice specs at an attractive price. As a potential buyer of your wheels, I'm just trying to give you feedback about would help sway me (and probably others) to give the TA16's a try. When you have 3 sets of identical rims in active service as I do, changing rim brands is more than a trivial purchase. Cheers. |

Apex doesn't say anywhere on their website that they will replace wheels no questions asked no matter what. They say they'll be replaced within 2 years for defects in design/workmanship in reasonable use. You can't hit the pacecar and drop the hammer and expect replacement, from anybody. It's a bit unrealistic to expect a vendor to come on here and tell us sure, we'll replace whatever whenever, and I'd see that as a bit desperate honestly (though I bet it would generate a few short-term sales)

Sure. But it's not a contractual obligation. It's good will to do it no questions asked. They can ask as many questions as they like to make sure you have not had a failure under reasonable use.

Update:
I tried installing them before a VIR track weekend over Labor Day weekend. Bad news: the fronts DO NOT clear the suspension in the front without spacers. It rubs the strut on a ZCP E92 M3. Fortunately I had a set of 10" Arc8 wheels with NT01s on them so I ran the car with that in the front and the BW wheels with RE71 tires out back. I have since purchased 3, 5 and 7mm spacers which I'll install this week for next weekend's Pocono track days The car looked pretty funky with silver front wheels and black rear ones! |

You mean the 10.5" ET27 inner wheel lip rubs the strut? Or the tire? What's hitting what, wheel on strut, tire on lower spring perch? Are you using a BBK with a thinner-than-stock rotor hat by any chance? Just surprised to hear as I know others have run the 10.5 ET27 up front with other wheels, and I've personally shoved bigger tires than that on the front of mine with similar offsets and narrower wheels, but obviously if it hit something it hit something

I'm running the PFC Z54 BBK. It's possible the hat is thinner than OEM. |

I think my Stoptech hats were a mm or two thinner than stock. The "drive pins" or whatever the hell they are on the hub are flush with the hat where the stock stuff has them recessed a couplemm, I could be imagining things though

This is not a couple mm. The wheel already took out that much from my poor struts
Edit: I installed them this afternoon with 5mm spacers and no rubbing! Last edited by SYT_Shadow; 09-06-2016 at 08:00 PM.. |

Damn wonder if these have a little more lip than some other wheels, the Apex wheels for instance don't have the raised outer bead reinforcement rib on them for instance, wonder if that's the difference

SYT_Shadow Kind of crazy you needed 5 mm spacer on 275 RE-71R! I had these mounted fine on EC-7s with barely any rub on plastic fender liner (not worth spacer).
Still gorgeous wheels, I'm tempted to get a set.
