Repainting window trim?

Has anyone gotten their gloss black window trim fully repainted? It seems like buying a replacement is quite a bit of money.

I think a competent body shop could do it by masking off the glass and surrounding body panels. Is your trim chipped or flaking?

Chipped in some areas but not flaking. The prices on that shit are fucking ridiculous.

If the chips aren't too bad, why not just use some touch-up paint and very carefully fill those in?

I'll be attempting it soon, it's actually really easy to remove all the trim pieces so you don't have to worry about masking the rest of the car.
