Tapered Washers for Rear Spherical Conversion

3/18/21 - ALL sold out! I will sget another batch started if/when we can get at least another 15 people in a pre-order status!

This for sale thread is for the tapered washers needed to convert the rubber bushings in the rear spindle to spherical bearings. I am not trying to take credit for this. I am just trying to keep this going for those still looking to do the mod like myself. So, I ordered up 100 washers and I am offering 24 orders for sale. The washers are needed at the outer guide rod and outer wishbone point.

Your order will come with four (4) washers (two for each side) to complete the job. The price is $35 shipped.

The washers I ordered just arrived on 2-6-21! here are a few pictures:

Washer credit: There had been a previous for sale thread here where you can find more information about the washers and their origin:
https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1781246

DIY/Installation credit: Here is an in-depth thread for those that do not know what these washers are for:
https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=26987513

The above thread also has some great posts in there about where to source spherical bearings: 8x Lemforder 3067901 or Meyle 3147100005 bearings... people have found other brands as well like Moog.

It also outlines the installation points for the washers:

As well as the separate kit you would need to purchase to also convert the lower camber arm inner bushing to a spherical: https://www.bimmerworld.com/BimmerWo...aring-Kit.html

Reserved for shots from my own installation. I will be using the stock bearings sourced from e8x/e9x wishbones! These stock arms have a spherical in them in the outer position. I was able to source old arms off part-outs for about $10 each. The plan is to cut the sheet metal and pop the spherical out!

Got it. And yes these were made state side. Just took a little while to find someone willing to set up the cnc machine to cut 100 small washers. Most wanted to cut 1000+ and others wanted ridiculous money. Next step is getting them shipped out to everyone without losing my shirt lol

looks awesome. I still have not gotten around to doing my own yet. NY has been getting a lot fo snow and I have no desire to heat up the garage to work on cars until the weather warms up a bit more lol

I plan to pull the whole subframe. do some detailing, painting, upgrade subframe bushings from poly to delrin, press in the sphericals, ECS trailing arms, middle brake lines that I couldn't get out previously... a whole list of crap. Maybe even upgrade the M3 lsd to a wavetrac if I get any of these biden bucks this time around.

Re the subframe bushings, just go solid. There is no NVH penalty and no reason not to go solid.

Actually bought some condor bushings not delrin.

I should just go solid but SCCA rules would put me in a different class. No one will ever know but I think condor bushings will be 99% the same as solid anyway and keep my conscious clean lol

yes, scroll up to the OP. yours shipped the 13th. A majority of people have already received theirs. A handful of people are still waiting. We are at the mercy of USPS quality which appears to have taken a nose-dive off a cliff. keep me posted.
