It's literally just rebranded. But hey, it's good enough for a Koenigsegg Regera, then it must be good for M haha

I ran Castrol TWS 10w-60 and changed to BMW Twin Power Turbo 10w-60 (which is actually Shell Helix Ultra 10w-60).
My rod bearings are in good shape as well and I haven't noticed burns my oil etc... with the Twin Power. I suggest sticking with the BMW twin power, IMO. |

I was using a mix of Mobil 1 0w40 and Castrol 10w60... but after I did my rod bearings, I am using BMW (Shell) 10w60.
Seems to work fine - a bit pricier than Castrol 10w60 but I only change oil once a year so it's fine. (drive 5K miles a year usually)

The bearings are okay as of now, so I just stick with the BMW/Shell helix 10w-60. Link: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=22919975 |

OP, the big question is, have you changed out your bearings to something with more clearance? If now, MANY would say use something like Mobil 1 0W40 that MAY help get some oil in the tight bearings.
If you've changed them out to something like BE, then 10W60 is the preferred oil, BUT, there's still some concern over the MAIN bearings. Unfortunately, a handful of main bearings shown here show more wear than would be expected. I just had BE bearings installed, and not sure what I'm going to run now. The mains are still a concern for me. I may run a mix of Mobil 1 0W40 and 15W50 with a little more 0W40. I'd be interested in hearing what others have done after BE changes and if they have any concerns about the main bearings? .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
