ARP WTF!?!?!
Just thought I would share a story and ask anyone if they have any insight.
I ordered the S65 rod bearing upgrade kit from Bimmerworld on June 5th and got the WPC coated bearings right away. The ARP bolts were supposed to come from another supplier straight to me as they were back-ordered a bit. I figured no big deal but it delayed me dropping of my car to VSR in NH to get the rod bearing job done a week. Talking to Bimmerworld middle last week and they thought the bolts would be shipped last Thursday or Friday so I made an appointment to drop off the car at VSR this past Saturday figuring that they would get the bolts middle of this week worst case. I just got an email from Bimmerworld telling me that there is a national back-order from ARP for these bolts. There simply aren't any. Is anyone else running into this right now? Anyone know where I could get some so VSR isn't stuck with my car longer than they have to be? |

Yes, I'm the guy who does all the testing for the Official Bearing Wiki thread.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=892838 The "testing" I did on these rod bolts is described here (even though these are the ARP-2000's in the post): http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=356 Either way, I have both sets of bolts: APR-2000's which I've never even touched with a torque wrench, and ARP-625's which were used to measure bearing clearance but never installed in a motor. |

VAC apparently uses a domestic ARP bolt. Maybe it has them.
New stock bolts cost only about $100, but will add at least 1 hour to the labor. What is VSR charging for the bearing change work? |

Just use the OEM bolts, they are better anyway unless you hone the rod. (That is not opinion either)
