E92 DCT actual weight!!

Okay I got my E92 DCT coupe with CF roof and almost every option except for rear parking sensors and cold weather package ( I added heated seats).....last time it was 3616 or about 3639 with a full tank of fuel (or 3512 empty).....today it was 3564 with about 61lbs of fuel...... (a full tank weighs about 127lbs)...so the Corsa exhaust is about 9lbs lighter than the stock giant muffler!! Not much but every little bit counts...

The DCT is about 45lbs heavier than a 6MT.....so just deduct that if you have similar options...the moonroof is supposed to be 45lbs heavier too....I'm not sure what all the options weigh?

What did you weigh it on? I like that it is closer to 3600 than 3700.

It really should be closer to 3200... How does Porsche get the Carrera in that range?

I put about 100 miles on my car today. It really does drive better than I had hoped it would. Overall MPG to date: 12.7

The Jerez black is AWESOME.

It gets in that range by being a lot smaller and costing $30,000 more than the M3.

So if a DCT E92 coupe weighs 3512 empty, then a 6MT E90 with no sunroof should weigh 23lbs less than that (-45lbs for 6MT, +22lbs for being an E90) - so about 3489lbs empty for an E90 6MT tin top. And it might even be a little less than that if the E90 doesn't have folding seats and is speed cloth, which is how my car is optioned. But I'll stick with the estimate of 3489 empty.

That's not bad considering an E46 coupe 6MT with all options and sunroof weighs about 3450.

I learned from my E46 M3 about weight like moonroof and fully loaded gives you alot of weight. With certain options you can lose like 150lbs or so. On my E90 no moonroof and I want a light weight exhaust and also I have 18s. Weight is your enemy when it comes to performance.

I learned from my E46 M3 about weight like moonroof and fully loaded gives you alot of weight. With certain options you can lose like 90lbs or so. On my E90 no moonroof and I want a light weight exhaust and also I have 18s. Weight is your enemy when it comes to performance.

A friend just weighed his new GT3 RS and it was just over 3400lbs with a full tank of gas, so they are not that light at all considering how much smaller they are.

Last I check, the 997's are getting to be little piggy's too. They're more like 3,400 and don't have a usable rear seat or trunk. The Turbo's are around 3,600 lbs.
