Quick question for e93 owners?

I know this may sound silly, but does your glove box open without the key?

My car is in for a couple of silly things, and one of them is this: Glove box does not open without using the key.

They are telling me that is correct behavior. That is not what the book says, and I think it used to open fine when I got the car...

Am I nuts?

They are wrong.
It is the glove box actuator. I had mine replaced twice, and it works fine.

I agree just checked mine for a lock/unlock switch the only thing I found was a USB port. Mine works without the key.

The switch you're referring to is for enable/disable the remote trunk release. I keep it disabled with the trunk partition down when I take it in for service. I'll lock the glove box with the key and give the service guy the remote. This essentially prevents them from putting the top down.

when the CAR locked from the outside (using remote) the glove box and center console should lock... that is normal....to protect your stuff with the top down.... to get them to open you must unlock the CAR...
its that what you are asking?
