Meisterschaft Utters - How to Hide

I just installed a Meisterschaft exhaust on my E90 and it has the Aero shield. Just wondering if anyone has done anything (ie: spray painted the nuts) to clean up the "utters" holding on the exhaust shield. Has it lasted well without getting all chipped up?

Pics if you have them please!

Take the shield off and cut the bolts?

I had the acorn nuts sandblasted and painted with semi-gloss black high temperature paint. I wanted to get them powdercoated but the shop I took it to said it wouldn't be easy to powdercoat something so small, so they just offered to sandblast and paint them (and the washers beneath the nuts) for $20. You could probably get away with just taking some sandpaper to them and just spraying them. Definitely looks much better, and has held up very well with minimal chipping over 2 years.

Alternatively, I agree that ditching the aeroshield altogether and just dremeling/grinding down the screws that are welded to the muffler cans is an option too, though you'll still see "dots" where the screws used to be on the bare metal.

Looks good and is exactly what I'm thinking I'll do. Thank you!
