NJ Inspection: TP n ESS Tune = Pass
I sometimes see threads asking about what to do...thought I might have to go to a private inspection place but based on advice I just went to a standard state inspection facility (Secaucus). They plugged into the OBDII, looked at their computer, then I got the sticker good til 2015.
Figured it would be helpful for others and know they don't need to fork out the $70 of whatever to get a private inspection.

Glad they didn't give you a hard time. I might have to switch my front turn signals to amber temporarily when I go in next year. What's the color of the sticker for '15? Pink?

Orange I think....Front Turn signals? Umm...I had no front license plate and painted reflectors...they didn't flinch at those.

I passed with a fully catless no resonator Meisterschaft x pipe and acm exhaust with the bpm stage 2 tune. I have no front plates, painted reflectors, tinted windows, suspension and red wheels. Passed at randolph with flying colors, in and out in less than 3 minutes.

Secaucus was the station I went to...Not sure about cameras...I saw something like a screen which looked like it was showing some camera feed but I couldn't make out what it was pointed to...but it didn't really seem part of the process.

NJ inspection is now just emissions. Used to be everything like headlights, signals, suspension, etc.

NJ is easy, they just plug in the OBDII and look for codes. As long as you have a tune that "tricks the system" your good to go. No more sniffer test in NJ.
