BMW Satin Chrome from M3 Edition

Anyway, yes, BMW stated the black chrome m3 edition grills will be available again - but no ETA as of right now. We are keeping all orders for these open...and we will not charge your card until they are actually in and shipping out to you. If you need to cancel...just email us w/ your order # and we'll be happy to assist with that as well. We took down this special for the time being since we can't order anymore at this time...but will re-post it just as soon as we get word they can be ordered!

The difference between the grills is that #1 are the Glossy Black BMW Performance grills on special in our BMW Performance Catalog on the site (and currently in stock).....and # 2 are the M3 Edition Black/Satin Chrome grills that aren't available to order right now.....cosmetically...they look similar...but up close they are different.

I recieved shipment confirmation via email on these today. I placed my order for the front kidney and side grills on May 25. Hopefully they got a big order in to cover everyone else.

So, I went to Tischer yesterday since I live in MD and picked up my package. I was a little worried since the emails from them seemed to imply that they shipped it rather than holding it for me to pick up. They even sent a UPS tracking number. So much for automation. So here it is off of the car. I'll install this weekend on my Interlagos Blue M3 and put up picks then.

Here's a few pics. The difference between stock and the "edition" gills is subtle. The only way to describe the new ones is that they are darker. They don't exactly match the glossy shadowline trim and they don't exactly match the gunmetal 18" wheels. I'd say it is in between. Perhaps a shadow chrome rim, like the 18" standard wheels on the E46 M3 would match. Anyway, on casual glance they just look mostly black. The pics don't really do it justice but I'm posting them anyway.

The first pic is the original gill on the car.


This second pic is the new one.


The next two are one of each, side by side off of the car. You can see the difference best in these side by side shots.

I ordered in May (sometime in early May) and since I live in MD I just went and picked them up so I didn't have to wait for shipping. Hope you get them soon.

I bought the gills and grills and UPS says they will arrive this Wednesday.

I was hoping they would match closely to the trim around the windows but the overall effect I'm going for is to keep the chrome like look but a little darker. These should be perfect with space gray! Can't wait to install these. I'll snap some pics as well and should have them up here on Wednesday or Thursday.

They don't entirely match the trim around the windows. But they are dark and seem to go better with the trim than the original chrome. I think you'll like this, especially with Space Gray.

Yes, our website software is a bit generic...but when your 'tracking number' says "Order complete - pickup # xxxxxx", we assume our customer's can put 2 and 2 together.

We should have the link back up sometime this week for new orders! They still might take a little while to come in, but at least we can resume ordering them from BMW!

For those still waiting on your orders to be filled, thank you for your patience...our shipping dept. is doing their best to fill them all as quickly as possible and from oldest to newest. These just came as a random batch and not tagged to the individual orders we submitted them as - so if we accidentally skipped over someone....we sincerely apologize.

Never received an "Order complete - pickup # ...". The email I received said:

Thank you for your business. Your order has been shipped. Please note, the tracking number gets generated when we order the shipping pick up, but does not become active until the order actually gets picked up and logged into the shipper's system. It may take 24 hours for the number to be active.

Order Number: xxxxxxx has shipped. Please note the tracking number and total order cost for your records.

But, it was the email I got from UPS with a shipping number for this order that caused me to question the shipping. Sneaky.

Very odd...as our order completion emails automatically generated by our system don't really look anything like that...???? Maybe it was sent to your spam/junk box?? Ohwell...all's good. Glad you were able to pickup the parts that finally made it in!

I just recently fitted a new set of kidney grilles to my E93 - part nos 51712155450/1, which look just fine, but as your reply states they are glossy and i cannot get side gills to match!!!!. I guess i should have checked this first, but can you advise on what the best match for my set up would be - clearly not Matte?

Unfortunately BMW doesn't offer matching gloss black side gills as of yet (kinda doubt they will)...so I'd check out what IND has to offer as mentioned above.
