Track day Chicago?
Ok, I know its early, but I am jonesing to get the M on the track for the first time this summer. Had it for around a year and I am ready to get it on the track.
Any Chicago guys have a track day lined up? What are my best options in the Chicago area? Thanks!

I think Gingerman is a far better track for a novice to learn on. It's a short track with more focus on learning the "line". At Road American one can get in trouble very quickly as the speeds build, especially at the turn 3, 5, the kink, and Canada corner. Don't get me wrong, Road America is my favorite track in America that I have driven, once I've gathered some experience. Mid-Ohio is also relatively accessible from Chicago, as well as Putnam Park.
I've been fortunate to have lived all over the US, and have driven many of the famous tracks, Laguna Seca being the latest.

as IL8Apex mentioned, Gingerman is a great track for a novice to learn on. it is relatively safe, even if you get off track.
i love going to their Test N Tune days because practically no body is on the track. last summer, me and 2 other friends went. we had the track to ourselves, haha.

I second the recommendation of Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, make sure to pick an event that uses the entire track, 21 turns and more than 3 miles. .... I am planning on going June 6th.

Gingerman, Putnam, Autobahn and Road America. you should sign up for the Autobahn event with MVP track time on June 6 (full track). I'll be there, and I know of a few other M3 post guys going.
