Where to source Brembo BBK caliper bolts

While attempting to remove one of the calipers the hex head on one of the mounting bolts started to strip. It seems like I've got a few options to get the bolt out at this point, but I know that when I do it will need to be replaced.

Does anyone know where to source the caliper mounting bolts for a Brembo BBK? I'm running the 345mm rear kit (2P1.8033A). I've tried searching everywhere I could think of online and don't see a place to buy these individually. When I had my GT3 the "standard" guidance was to replace these bolts every time the calipers came off for rotor swaps, so it seems strange to me that these aren't more readily available. The GT3 bolts looked pretty similar, but I don't know if they were actually the same length/pitch or not.

Pic of my mistake attached for your viewing.

Thanks!

These guys are the US importer/distributor for Brembo. Call them up and see if they can help you out.

Otherwise, just find out the bolt specs and order replacements from McMaster Carr or wherever.

Thank you both. I sent out some emails and am waiting to hear back. I'll post again here with the source if I am able to find somewhere to buy them.

To anyone else looking for these, Race Technologies is who you need to contact. The part number is #905574 and they are currently listed at $8.95 each.

That bolt head design is baffling. I don't understand the decision to use something weird like that. You could go to McMaster Carr and get something equivalent without that stupid hex head for 1/3 the price.

Is this bolt designed to be replaced every time the caliper is off? Or on some very short interval to prevent the very situation OP is describing?

It's definitely a low profile bolt head (and hence easy to strip if you're not careful due to the shallow hex). My guess is for wheel clearance purposes, but you're right I'm sure something equivalent can be sourced with a slightly better head design.

I'll admit that stripping it was completely my fault though. I underestimated how over-torqued these were and should have a) heated the bolt and b) used a proper 1/2" drive torque wrench or breaker bar. I used a 3/8" adapter because I was anxious to get something done and it cost me.

Porsche recommends replacing these every time the caliper comes off, but then again why wouldn't they? When I had my GT3 I used to swap between PCCB rotors and iron rotors for the track. I replaced the bolts every other time and never had an issue. Having new hardware always feels good though and all things considered it's not much money to replace them

I had a similar issue with the caliper bridge bolts on my StopTech kit. I always kept a few spares around since the soft heads tended to strip after a few removals.

Agreed. That's just asking for problems. That needs to be a hex or e-torx for sure.
