Vent hum

Hey guys,

I was in my car yesterday and noticed a humming sound when I put the fan speed up to half way, it's a strange sound and sounds like electronic interference somehow.. I'm in queens, ny and the car is still under warranty.. 08 e92..

Can anyone refer me to a good Service advisor? I'd hate to take the time to go to the dealer and get a response like 'I don't hear anything'..

I just don't want to end up wasting my time.. Thanks

- Vince

A hum and not a squeak from the fan blower motor?

Could be out of balance, maybe due to water ingress. I've you've had a windshield replaced, make sure the cowling at the base of the windshield on the passengers side is properly installed. If not, the water will go straight into the blower motor. Then straight onto the passengers floor after that!

If you pull the passenger side cabin filter cover, look in the opening and check the blower motor. If there's rust on the nut at the top of the motor, that should tell you if that's the source of your humming or not.
