My wife made me sweat it out for about an hour but I think knew we were going to leave with the car once we saw it.

Great info on the board. Already replaced the mirror covers with the OEM CF ones and found the DIY section super helpful. Tinted the windows too and will probably be looking at an exhaust in the spring.

I know from some of the threads that some either like or strongly dislike this Frozen Silver edition. The official photos from BMW do not do it justice. It's much more of a satin finish than matte and in different light conditions the car really looks different.

Attached are a couple of photos, enjoy! And thanks for all the great posts, it's good to be back!

While in reality, it is none of our business, I hope he did not pay a $1 over MSRP. There are several here in Chicago at MSRP and they can't sell them. Of course that could be because you would be crazy to have that color here with our weather. Now Seattle? That would certainly work. Plus his garage floor looks nicer than my house floor

That is my favorite color once I saw it in person! You are right. Pictures do not do this color justice whatsoever! Great choice man great choice. Also its one of the most unique colors out there that BMW makes so its not like you see it everyday. The wheels go perfect with it along with the stiching on the interior! Contgrats and look forward to seeing what kind of tasteful mods you put on it!

They also got allocated a little differently this time and hence certain geographies have a LOT more. Only BMW of Bellevue here in Seattle got one in the entire Pacific Northwest. The next closest dealership to us to get one was in SF which is over 700 miles away.

Congrats and welcome back to the forums! I saw the pictures of this car on NWAS and found out that you were friends with Peter (Moog55). Congrats on the new ride. You have to do a professional photoshoot!

Agreed. When we get a nice weekend, we need to get Jason Tang and the rest of us to give Jason's H's M3 a proper photoshoot.

I can't wait to see this car in person.

I haven't seen you or your car in forever! Want to hear it too. Really itching to replace the exhaust. We'll see, just need to get Jamie to hear a bunch of others so she gets the itch too. M5 was perfect afterwards and M3 definitely needs it.

I know. I've done a lot to my car since you've seen it last, but I'm already itching for a new car. haha.

tho it is a debate that rages on forever about what the best exhaust system is, i still feel that the Eisenmann Race is the best sounding exhaust hands down. i never get tired of that sound. between all of my other seattle buddies, we have about every decent exhaust system on the market so when we all get together, you can hear them all and make your decision.

This will be my daily driver. I already got it detailed and they even waxed it with Swissvax using their matte products. You have to reapply it a little more often and can only do it by hand but it didn't change the look at all. Also no clay bars, etc... I'll even take it to the track eventually once the newness wears off. It actually seems a little easier to take care of and does not show dirt nearly as badly as a regular paint job. Between the matte finish and black wheels, here is Seattle even with all the rain it looks pretty clean.

Good luck on your M6 decision. When the weather was beautiful, it was awesome, but otherwise it was a big compromise. The M5 did everything else better except the top didn't go down. There's another thread about the BMW M School and someone else commented that they liked the M5 on the track more than the M6 as well. I agree and don't see myself ever stepping into an M6 again. Maybe the new M6 will be different, it'll be interesting to see...
SwissVax Opaque line is pretty awesome for matte/satin paints. I do it myself and it comes out looking great.

hey PNW, thx for the reply. but what about the winter and salt as well as the bird droppings and sap. do they really need to be cleaned asap?

i reaallly want matte paint but the more i do research online on lambo, ferrari, etc mattes i get the impression you can't use it as a dd...

guys,...this is not a matte colour

even though the OP also explicitly said this some of you just won`t get it

It looks more like a satin car cover pulled over the car...you have to look at it from up close to get the details!
