Is Ipod accessory worth it with 09 Idrive?

Since the 09s have a 20gig hardrive, is there really a need for the Ipod option?

Is one better than the other for music play?

Just wondering since i think this is the last week i can change any options on my car.

Depends on how much music you have stored on your iPod, as I have yet to find a way to down load all my iPod music to the car's hard drive (ie, don't think it is possible due to license rights, etc). Plus I can use my iPod in other venues and still enjoy the same catalog of music (ie, can't take the car's hard drive to the beach or biking, etc).

Get the ipod option, I'm pretty sure you'll regret it in the future if you don't. It's one of the must have options in this car.

I have IPOD option in my 328i now which is why im wondering if i would miss it if the Idrive has the harddrive.

Say you have an Ipod and a Flash drive. Both have 8 gigs of music on them. You still need to plug either one into the car for it to play music.. correct?

Its almost the same concept.. no? Only advantage i see with the Ipod option iis that it charges the device.

Worth it to me: that way I can set-up Playlists etc - and it's all coming from my iPhone so I want that integrated in any case.

If you have a flash drive with all your mp3s, then you shouldn't notice a huge difference. However, the ipod option is nice, as it keeps your ipod charged, and you can use friends tunes, too. If you have an iphone I'd say its almost a must have, since the cradle is so much nicer than the cable clutter in the tiny cubby of a console we have.

BTW... Did you settle on Interlagos?

Yea i use the Ipod option now for my Iphone. I do like having it charged with it. Not something that i need since im pretty good about charging it overnight at home.

Yes I went with Interlagos/Bamboo, thanks for your pictures. I keep adding options to my list as time goes by. Already added moonroof and 19s..

It will be nice once my options are locked in so i can stop playing with them!

I think im going to skip on the IPOD option. I added Sat Radio to my option list already. Im sure that will entertain me plenty. Besides the V8 of course.

That's a pretty complete list - think you'll be delighted. Adding Sat radio - especially depending where you live - is a

choice.

Like the IB + Bamboo - think it's a nice contrast, the black looks too severe for my taste w/ IB.
