Potholes are evil
Decided to go exploring some good driving roads on a warm(ish) spring sunday afternoon in Bear Mountain State Park. Had been there less than 15 minutes when I hit a massive pot hole and blew out my driverside front tire. This...sucks. I had my car flat bedded back to Queens, and now I've gotta figure out how to get it back on the road. The tow truck driver mentioned that the rim is bent, so now it would seem that I need to get it repaired. I've got it parked by a local tire shop for now, but without a rim that will hold air, I'm screwed. How do yall deal with pothole blow outs around here?

I am petrified to drive the M around town. Thankfully I know where all the big pot holes are and I can try to avoid them.

Definitely drive slower, and give yourself more space between the guy in front of you. That's how I deal.....

I read some article yesterday comparing the roads in NY to the surface of the moon. Couldnt be any more true. A business was telling him they havent seen this many people coming in from bent and cracked rims in 15 years.
The roads in NYC are bad enough, I rarely move my car right after winter because of them. Thankfully I take the MTA to work. I found the article actually... http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/wel...ork-1695061438 |
