Looking for a friendly run with a M3..

Hey guys, so i got my E90 335i N54 running back up and running to where i want it, replaced spark plugs and injectors and its running good.

My cousin had a E90 M3, that i use to run often, to see the power addtions the mods would add, but he no longer has the car.

If anyone is around looking for a friendly run that would be great.

I run pump gas, no meth.. I am fully catless with Dp's, no secondary cats, ETS FMIC, Intake, and a JB4 tune.

PM me.. Thanks alot and happy thanks giving.

Just Curious but....How did you do agains the M3?

I got beat by 2 335's from a 60roll, twice. They had tunes and dp's and running e85.

I have no cats and heavy wheels, lolzzzzz

My cousin had just I believe an AA exhaust at the time.. he was 6MT..

Before my DP's and FMIC I would pull slightly on a 40 roll. to 130ish.. I was tune+intake+No secondary cats/resonator.

We've done races with my car being tune only, tune+intake.. highboost+intake+no sec cats or resonator.
Bunch of different races with different mods, but haven't tested my new Downpipes and FMIC setup with new plugs..

High rolls favor M3's for sure.. stay closer up top.
I was on pump gas for all the races.

Thought it would be fun, im sure theres someone in the area that would love to see where there M3 is at speed wise, and what it can do against a modded 335i. All in good fun, I think it be lots of fun.
DCT would be great race!

The heavy wheels look good I bet, but def effect performance in all aspects, so its a balance point.

I agree 100%. I'm also a 6mt, with no short shift kit ....yet.

I have heavy wheels because I rarely get into racing, so my cars appearance gets most of my wallets attention. LOL I'm sure I'll change my mind down the road...get lightweight wheels, VT620 kit and call it a day. lol

Good luck with finding someone. Let us know what happens!

Dude, based on your upgrades your car isn't even a M3 anymore just kidding. It would just be the worst baseline comparison M3 to run against.

I don't understand how one spents x amount of money on upgrades for the 335 and pulls on a stock m3 and takes pride In the win. If you want a fair race you should race boosted m3 since the 335 has two turbos combined with a easy tune produce great up gains.
I personally had 335 owners race me and once they find out I have minor work done they seem disappointed.

I was a 335 owner once and never once did take pride for being faster than an m3 in a straight line, because I would be in limp mode and parked on the side every time I went to track while M3s were blowing by me.

Sadly, not every but majority of the e92 335s are becoming like the e46 m3s...because it's getting so cheap it seems like a lot of younger generation drives it nowadays and all about who's faster after three honks on a highway which takes absolutely no skills btw especially since everyone drives DCT in NY

Not sure if this is redirected towards me? I take no pride, the only car i have a baseline off of is a M3, so it would be nice to see where i stand after my new round of mods etc. DCT M3 i bet is fast as hell.
Im not looking to beat anyone, or make a fair race.

Ill race a boosted M3 no problem if one is around! That would be awesome, but wont help with a baseline for me. But still would be down.

Just would think maybe someone would like to see where there M3 stands against tuned 335i as some friendly runs.

Wow, pretty defensive there buddy. For what its worth the tuner learning curve on our 335's has taken a quantum leap in the past few months and more and more of the reliability issues on a maxed out car (meaning FBO like me) are being dealt with.

This means close to 500whp on many of our rides (440-470ish as of today) with E92 and meth, maxing out the stock turbos. Once we sort the injectors and coils issues with after market options, there wont be a comparison with any stock M3, and even the supercharged ones will need larger pulleys to keep up in a straight line.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. The M is a beautiful car but I would rather have a fast and beautiful street car that doesnt regularly get beaten by a "lesser" car, as there is where 95% of my driving occurs. Happy holidays guys!

My point exactly. You increase 335s base home to 470whp and and want to race stock m3s. Race an m3 with additional hp increase them you may call it a base run comparison.

Not sure I understand what you mean , do you mean that you prefer FBO 335s to M3s and C63s or you mean that you prefer supercharged M3s over Ferraris and Lambos or you mean that you prefer twin turbo Lambos and Ferraris over Veyrons!?

Hey everyone!

Coming from a highly modded 335i jumping on to the M3, yes there is a huge difference in power, but I don't regret it at all. My 335i had Meth, DP, Exhaust all catless, JB4, full coilover kit and still doesn't measure up to my M3 as far as driveability. Power wise is a different topic. As someone stated earlier, try to race a modded M3 to see where the 335i measure up against the M3. The 335i is a beast regardless, but the sound and feel of the M3 is amazing and hopefully soon, will be supercharged. If I was home, I would race you in heartbeat.

I'm sure YOU understand what I mean. No one likes losing to a car that is perceived to be cheaper/not as exclusive, so most poseurs won't do what necessary to change that and try to ignore the situation they're in.

You have no idea just how much fun that is to the guy with the "lesser" car. Lol
