Canadian Ordering Guide (Sept. 9, 2007)

Hi, all. First post - occasional lurker.

My dealer just forwarded me this ordering guide, listing options, albeit without prices

Of note, the 18" rims are described as "dark finish". They don't appear to be as dark as those on the test cars in Spain to me.

Run flats, in 225 and 255 are available. (Who would even consider these???)

Standard seats = cloth mid-section, with leather bolsters.

Note: This is the CANADIAN list - of particular note, the "Administrative fee for ordering special colours, interiors, or equipment." I am hoping this is definitive for "Individual" Ordering!!!

Hope this helps. There is a link to the entire document, here, from Jason on Roadfly:

http://members.roadfly.com/jason2/20...ing%20info.pdf

Here is the whole list:

Thx. 12/07 production? hmm... Since Ca and US are North America that would mean Jan delivery is possible for US? I will still wait for MDCT but it's a good sign. 5-6mo to go before cars hit US shores....

What?!!!! Leather is OPTIONAL? On a car whose MSRP will be > $80,000 CA, I can't believe that leather will be optional. That's crazy!!!!

No it doesn't. The 'X' just indicates combinations which are particularly recommended. It doesn't mean you can't specify exterior colours and interior colours which don't have the 'X'.

BMWUSA has precluded ordering certain combinations before.

The assumption that Silverstone II and Fox Red will not be allowed is based on there not being an 'X' in the colour chart, when all this does is indicate combinations that are particularly suitable.

The many pictures if Silverstone II and Fox Red combined means there will be no problem whatsoever.

My point is, though the combination might be available elsewhere, BMWUSA has prevented certain ones from being ordered in the past.

Leather seats are standard on a Carrera. The Full Leather package, consisting of leather dash, doors, rear seats and a whole bunch of other areas is optional.

US

Cool. I guess the real question for me and the rest of the US folks is does Canada and the US typically release new BMW simultaneously? If so we can probably count on 12/07 builds for the US as well which probably means exactly what we have been speculating - March 08 for first US deliveries.
