UPDATE
Went to dealer this AM. Service manager did not seem very apologetic. Said scratch is pretty minor and spots on paint look like they are under the paint. I told him neither scratch nor spots were there before I brought my car in. I also offered to share the 38 time+GPS - stamped pics I have taken in their service lane right before they took the car in. He was interested if they were really timestamped but didn't want to see them just yet... They'll go over their paperwork and videos and call me back later today. To be fair, scratch does look minor but I'm not sure if they can just buff it out. Either way I'm taking the "you scratch it - you fix it" stance here. |

UPDATE
So dealer service manager called. Basically, saying it isn't their fault. Car was in and out in 2hrs and they don't see a problem on their surveillance cams. Paint damage also not their problem. Gave me a couple of body shops I can bring the car to. Dealership was BMW Seattle. I think they lost my business... Not keen on going to BMW Bellevue either, and NW is just too far. Funny how after 2 months of ownership I'm now considering trading in for a 911 C2S just to get decent dealership support... Filing it under "life just sucks sometimes" bucket. |

The grey-looking surface scratching will buff out. Try Meguiars Ultimate Compound, available at any chain auto parts store. The orange discoloration is more unusual-- but I have seen this happen on white cars due to certain bird droppings. Can't say in your case, maybe, maybe not! It generally happens more when there is no wax or sealant left on the paint. Rust marks or bird dropping marks can usually be buffed out. If it is really acid, that would be a problem, obviously.

I wash the car myself weekly. I waxed the car the week before with meguiars ultimate wax and I take a quick detailer spray to it daily to remove bugs and other stuff off since it is my DD. Pretty sure the yellow spots were not there before the visit. I also never ever park under trees so sap isn't it either. The spots are also very uniform in shape and there are 7 of them along the hood and side fender. Very much doubt birds managed that. |

Well, hopefully last update on this thread. I was able to buff out the scratch(thank you Beemdog!). I also got my dremel tool out, put a 1" cotton tip on it and was able to buff out the orange spots as well. Car is now waxed and looks amazing!
I guess I'll go to Bellevue next time. At least I bought the car from them so if something happens I'll have more leverage. Thanks all for reading! |

There is nothing wrong with sharing dealership name. At the end of the day, you are giving your feedback about how they did the work which many are looking forward to hear about it.
