BFG R1S tires.

I have used these on the track before and really like them.
Tire rack has them right now on a special/closeout for only $159 per tire,
$637 for the set of 4. 285/30ZR18.
They are so cheap because Production date is 2018.
I called them and they said they are still good as they are stored in the temp. controlled environment.
Now question for tire experts : are these tires still good to use on the track or soft compound is not that soft any more even though they are technically brand new?

Get them while they last! They've been discontinued!

This has been a tough year for me and tires... RE71 and R1, my two favorite tires, discontinued!!

They are perfectly fine despite being 3 years old

Chris - any feedback on the regular R1? Similar to the Hoosier R7?

So after some research it looks like 3 years old new modern tires are still good if they were stored properly.
Now as I am ready to order some of these tires their website shows only 3 tires available.
Called them up and they said yep, only 3 tires left, because some m3post forum member named SYT Shadow has depleted the entire TireRack warehouse

Oh no! Well you aren't far, if you need a set you can come get it.

I was thinking about ordering another two sets just now...

As long as the tires were stored correctly they last a long time

I just did the same thing....ahhhhh.....a day late always! I was going to buy the three and figure out a 4th and they were gone by the time i entered in my CC info.

Hey Shadow thanks, but it was a joke.
I expected TireRack to sell these tires very quickly for that price and I grabbed 3 sets myself before I even let everybody here know that this deal is available.

I didn't like this tire very much - but I almost died on the ROVAL in my M4. Sidewalls are soft and the rollover can be jarring

they called me today and cancelled all my orders except 1

I'm not happy. I understand only allowing one set per customer, but you have to warn people about this so they don't waste their timing placing 6 orders, one at a time

This is the email I received this morning from them:

"Due to the low price and increased demand for the BF Goodrich G-Force R1S in P285/30R18, we can only sell a maximum of 4 tires per customer"

Will get 1 set as well...

I heard someone did this and ordered 4 sets, but they were of the BFG R1 variety, not the R1S variety
