ABS Speed Sensor

Hi Everyone,

I could really use your help. I was on the 1/4 doing my first run and of course this happened to me. After my first run the abs light came up so I ran my carly and did a reset and it kept coming up after which I figured it was my abs speed sensor but then On top of that my speedometer stopped working completely. Which I cant find anyone saying that it has happened to them so just wanted to hear your opinion?

Thank you in advance

I had both front sensors go out within 50 miles of each other very recently. When the first one went out, I swamped from left to right and cleared to codes to make sure if the code came back that it was on the other side (it did). Replaced both and been trouble free for a few hundred miles now. So both your rears are out? If you have time to kill I'd still swap left to right and clear codes for shits and giggles, or just order new ones. I got ATE, about half price of OEM.

My code was:

Fault Code: 005DA3
Fault Explanation: :Wheel speed sensor, front right start detection
(comparison) / Speed sensor, rear detecting starting v comparison /
Speed sensor front right detecting starting v comparison. / Yaw rate
sensor DRS sends signal DrsPSIP2 = Init Failed status. (DRS-type MM
3.x). / Yaw rate sensor: DRS sends signal DrsPSIP2 = Init state error;.
DRS-type MM 3.x --- (DSC: DSC sensor internal) / Yaw rate sensor: DRS
sends signal DrsPSIP2 = INIT state error (DRS-type MM 3.x). / Drivers
outlet valve (dump) shorted front right

Yeah I figured I'd replace both but my question is did you also have your speedometer stop working because I don't see anyone else saying it did. Or is that a separate issue now?

Not for me, but I've found elsewhere on the internets that the left rear sensor is used for the speedo, at least for the E46.

Just to update if anyone has the same issue I replaced both rear sensors and the speedometer starting working again although as soon as i replaced it my front right sensor came up as an issue and had to replace that as well.
