Free event in NJ - driving IS-F

I just came across to this event where you get to drive an IS-F for free and all you need is your driving license. Check out the link below.

There's no tolls, no parks, no cash needed. The only time you'll be spending money is if you want to try some donuts at the Apple House and for lunch at Lost River Brew.

We now have 20 confirmed cars and that number is going up every day

If you click on the route link at the top of the original post it'll show you exactly where we're going and where we start. You can see the Apple House commuter parking lot on google maps satellite view - it's behind the building.

More info on Lexus event - email chain

Hello Isak de Eskinazis,

Great question! This is a "one lap" event where you will be able to ride in your choice of an IS F-Sport or GS models or enjoy the eye-opening acceleration of the IS F. You can sign up one time only, but if the next session is not full or we have some cancellations you are more than welcome to go through it again.

There is an opportunity drawing in each session where you could win a "Hot Lap" in the Lexus new F Performance flagship: the all-new 552 hp LFA driven by champion professional driver, Scott Pruett*!

I hope that answers your question. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, April 29th. It's going to be an exciting event!

seems like they will cancel double bookings on event day.

Also it looks like they are not going to be able to fill up many spots which is good so you get the chance to drive the ISF more. I signed up for 2 pm as well.

Do you want to meet up and drive up?

Probably, there's only a few M Coupes in northern VA. I think I'm the only Blue one. There's 2 Blue M Coupes in MD though and I think that's it.

Advisory

Been reading the other forums and saw this:

Quote:
The State of Viginia has a 2.2 billion dollar budget deficit. It also has a rule that anyone driving 15 mph over the speed limit can be charged with reckless driving and fined $ 2500. Last weekend on I - 95 and I -81 State of Virginia issued 6996 Traffic Tickets in " Operation Air, Land and Speed.
That was as of March 2010.

Note, that we will be traveling in mass on I-66 / 81.

Lets not get too crazy out there! You know our group will be a giant cop magnet

A good reminder for us all to be smart on the highways. Save the fun for the mountain roads. And is anyone bringing a radar detector?

This ruling is declined by the court and peoples tickets voided and refunded their payments. >19 mph above speed limit is still reckless driving but would cost you about $200-$300. which is still huge but better than the entire paycheck.

I drive on I-66 go get to work, within a distance of 10 miles that i drive, i sometimes come accross to 5 radar/laser vehicles. so my suggestion dont go more than 10mph above the speed limit on interstates (on I-95 <80 is ok).

As a precursor to the event it's always a good idea to visit the roads ahead of time when doing a cruise in my opinion, I pulled up the route map to drive it tomorrow during the day expecting that weekend traffic would be off the road. I realized it was right in my old back yard as I previously lived in Woodstock for a few years.

Anyone besides myself know the area?

thanks for the input! Still though, no excuse for us to be crazy, as tempting as that might be

I've driven the route twice and will be leading the group but it's always a good idea to be familiar with the route and where the stops are before heading out. Keep notes on the the addresses of where we'll be stopping, like the Apple House, Loves Travel Stop, Lost River, so if you get separated, just punch the address of the next stop into your sat nav and head there.

I agree, nothing crazy on the highway - except maybe some kind of cool formation
