Skyline Run is now making the world a better place by donating all money collected to charities This run will be donated to the Fragile X Foundation (video and explanation here:http://www.fragilex.org/html/NFXFgalavideo.htm). Please send the donation to .. on pay pal. Once I have it I'll change your status from NEW to CONFIRMED. Remember to select 'Personal' and 'Gift' when sending the money. Because of the type of roads we'll be on, registration has been capped to 30 cars.

Details:

We will be meeting at the Apple House off Exit 13 on I66 at 10am. There is a commuter parking lot just behind the building where we can all park. The Apple House is famous for its home made donuts. I highly recommend you try some while we're here waiting for everyone to show. The plan is to head out as soon as everyone arrives, sooner the better.

We will then be traveling down I66 W to I81 S. and jumping off at exit 291, pulling into Loves Travel Shop on the left to regroup and get ready for the back roads. Don't be stupid on the interstate! We can have fun on the way back but I don't want everyone to get pulled over before we even start

From here we're heading out onto Back Rd. and taking it all the way Union Church, stopping there if possible. Then driving through the mountains to Wardensville, WV. NOTE: There is no cell phone service past this point! This is a 1 lane no lines road, its extremely twisty and extremely fun. Cautious drivers in the back, skilled drivers up front, don't cut the blind corners as a pickup truck could be coming the other way. I'll be up front setting a somewhat-safe and fast pace.

In Wardensville we'll be eating at a place called Lost River Brewery. They brew their own very popular beers so make sure you try one or maybe take a bottle home. Update: There's a public parking lot 2 buildings down from Lost River, most of us will be able to park there the rest can park on the street. There's also a tiny lot just behind the restaurant. After lunch I was thinking we could go to an overlook just outside Wardensville for a photo shoot before we continue on.

Traveling up 55 we'll be stuck behind cars so just expect it. Pulling over at Rt 600 if possible and continuing on to Zepp and the grand finale over the last mountain. Back at Back Rd., cell phone service returns, stopping at Loves to chat and say bye!

Remember to bring your cameras and car mounted cams for the video!!!

This stupid registration site doesn't do links to paypal... DLBRacing is better but they never responded to me.

Hey just out of curiosity, is it going to be strictly a maximum number of 30 participants? I'm worried we might end up getting a little more than anticipated as the weather is shaping up and I'm seeing a lot more exotics on the road than before. Plus word spreads pretty quickly...

Yeah, I don't want more than 30, 25 would be best. Maybe later this year we can do a uncapped event and invite everyone. Have something like 100 or so sport/super cars, that would be crazy. But for this event on these roads, we can't do more than 30.

I dunno about that tbh, what are you gonna do if you get a lot more cars show up? you can't just turn block them from coming...

In the spirit of the Skyline drives tradition, it shouldn't be restricted because the best part about it is that people would come and invite their pals to show.

I think that if you want to make something exclusive it shouldn't be on this drive, perhaps a separate trend that caters just to a smaller crowd..

I understand but just remember that both of the last 2 runs had less than 30 cars. The problem with having more than that is that we create our own traffic jams, wont have anywhere to park, and we wouldn't fit in a restaurant. That said, invite your friends! No reason they can't come as there's only 5 signed up so far

John, as we discussed, you can put your Paypal email address in the confirmation text so people know where to send the money for your event when they complete the registration.

Darkstar--thanks for making this happen--and thank you to every one else for participating and being willing to donate to this charity. I hope to have my son riding with me so everyone can meet just one of the special people they are helping out with their generous donations. I have registered and sent payment.

I would also like to contact the National Fragile X Foundation to order wristbands for everyone if that is OK with Darkstar and the rest of the group. Darkstar--if you have not already done so, and wish to contact the foundation to see if there are other ways to put a face on this event through the foundation, I am more than willing to assist--just send me a PM.
