did anyone had a problem with a corroded that im getting for somereason i thought it was a bad alternator and when i brought to the dealership they said i need a whole new positive power cable that it costed parts labor for $2600 they said why it requires a 16hr job. to get it changed and it requires the subframe being dropped? am i getting ripped off or what? it had to happen while im trying to move from virginia to california i wouldnt mine doing it if i was at home already.. now with just getting an alternator changed and getting the cable changed they said the cost out door will be $4100

i have seen this before with cars that get water in the battery compartment. unfortunately if u do not periodically check the battery compartment the damage has already been done....

well its just not the battery compartment the dealer said its the whole line needs to be replaced which is from front to back

No, I checked the Transport Canada website cause essentially both US and Canada get the same recalls. There was a recall in 2013 for this cable.

thats weird because when i got the car i brought for a recall for the heater wiring, airbag recall and that didnt show up on my recall list

well i was about to just get towed back home and fix it my self and the insurance suggested that might be able to cover it since i live in coastal area and has snow too that if that corrosion can relate it.. they can cover whatever need to be fixed

yes, the cable is one piece: runs from the battery all the way up to engine compartment. you might be able to cut off the end that is damaged and splice in a new end/connector (assuming the complete cable is corrded). keep in mind its a "hot" wire so if you are not skilled enough to perform this "repair" leave it for the professionals. it could end up costing you a lot more $$ and aggravation if not done properly.

i can do the job itself its just im traveling from virginia to california and the car broke down new mexico.. but they lower thr price to 2000.. bruh im already pissed that i already told them main problem is coming from those terminals and they wont listen to mel im already stuck in new mexico for about 3 days now and going 4 tomorrow
