Clips of attempted drifting at the track

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Found footage from last year when I was trying to drift at the track. Aside from playing around on skid pads on occasion and practicing drifting in simulation, this was really my first go at it. It's surprisingly hard to get the car sideways when you are at higher speeds because the momentum of the car wants to go straight. You really have to get it to a higher slip angle, but then fear comes into play. I spin 2x at the end of the clip thinking, "screw it, I'll just go for it".

Your car in its current state isn't setup to drift. Take off your rear wing, pump up the rear tires to about 50 psi and get more aggressive.

Have fun!

Obviously. it was just the end of a private track day and wanted to have some fun before we left. I did have r comps in the front and street tires in the back which helped a bit.

I don't think my wing does very much at those speeds anyways.

Looks like you just needed 5mph to carry the drift. Easier said than done. Loved the video and the cars are great looking

That looks so fun! I have been wanting to drift lately, but I don't want to do it on the street. It seems like unless you go to a track and have room, like you did, there is no good place to play...
