Technology Package, Why???

Looking to buy 2011 M3 Coupe, loaded except technology package.

I'm a little confused....

Without tech package, I give up sat radio and nav.

What else will I miss out on??

Thank you!

EDC, Comfort access and M Drive........ get the tech package. If you are going to drop the nickles for the car, drop a few more and get the options.... just my .02 cents

M Drive.

You need the Tech package but to me the premium is optional.

I don't know about the 2011 models, but my 08 doesn't have the tech package and I do have EDC.

In short satellite radio and nav are the least of what you give up.

Yes, EDC is available via ZTP or stand-alone.

I find BMW's nav to be so-so but the rest of the iDrive stuff is very useful. All of the settings, etc.

EDC I can take or leave.

Comfort Access is one of my favorite things.

CA and iDrive are things I would want on any BMW

In reality, no ZTP means no MDM and no Comfort Access. Everything else can be ordered separately.

Comfort access is sweet. It might seem not that useful but it is definitely worth it.

Just depends on what you want. I ordered only the ZCP (which includes its own EDC) and DCT options. But, I did not want sat or nav.

Garage List
Get the Tech package, load the car!

I ordered mine with every single option, a car like this should be fully loaded.

Your going to miss out on MDM which is excellent IMHO. Comfort Access is cool but not necessary. I'm not a huge fan of the IDrive , and the BMW Nav leaves plenty to be desired if you ask me. I've searched for very well known hotels, restaurants, and golf courses on the points of interest and they are nowhere to be found. By comparison a good friend of mine has an Acura TL and his Nav is touchscreen and has never failed to find exactly what we were looking for when looking for a restaurant or something of that nature. It is also much more user friendly. BMW dropped the ball in this department if you ask me, they need to go to a touchscreen system soon and ditch the IDrive, although I haven't heard anything indicating that they will. I would suggest getting it, the MDM alone is worth it.

Gotta have M-drive botton... there is nothing like pressing that botton and feeling the whole car getting tighter right under your thumb

Sorry, not getting the tech package on such an amazing car would be a very poor choice. Why not make it the best it can be? no regrets! Dude def go to a dealer and play with it. It's amazing.
