Yes, BMW CA in LA confirmed new Financing Deals on 2009 M3's at 3.9% for 5 years. 6 years is still 6.99%.

And the 2008 M3 0.9% deal has been extended into Infinity or Dec 31st.

Picking up the new 2009 M3 whip tomorrow and will get this new rate.
It was ready on Oct. 31, but I waited knowing something was coming.

Economy tanked between the time the car was ordered in September 2008 and it arrived last week, late October 2008.

Cheers,

Does it still have the balloon payment attached to it? Not worth it if it does. I got 2.49% for 5 yrs from my local credit union. I'm sure you can find deals for under or close to 4% with no balloon payment.

This is where the confusion starts. The low interest rates are available with traditional financing as well as BMW's special finance options.

As long as there is no prepayment penalty, having a balloon payment doesn't really matter, does it? You can just overpay as if you had no balloon payment and in the end it will cost the same.

In any case, I looked at all the credit unions I could find in LA, and the best advertised rate I found was 4.5%. If BMW offers 3.9%, I might consider financing the car instead of just paying cash. I think even in this economy I could beat 3.9% over 5 years.

True about balloons. Just put that money in a long term CD earning more than 3.9.......that is my plan.

so does the 3.9 on 2009s have the balloon payment?

the financing is based on the amount minus the balloon payment ?

BMW Select is the financing option to have a Balloon Payment at the end of the Loan...almost like a lease.

Has nothing to do with the APR Rate charged.

All the 0.9% financing options were with the balloon payment. That's why I ask. It was a teaser rate along with a teaser monthly payment to entice those who normally wouldn't be able to afford it to move into an M3. Now if you already could afford it and can be disciplined enough to make the extra payments or have the cash to drop on the balloon at the end of the term, then by all means, do it.

actually, the 0.9% is with regular 5yr payments. it doesn't matter if it's balloon or not.

Your assertion is largely incorrect!

I alluded to this after HIS4 made a similar comment earlier. The 0.9% was available with traditional 5yr financing as well.

My mistake. I never looked into it that far since I was getting an 09 anyway so the 0.9% wasn't applicable to me.
