gadget, we're not on a WW lines ship, so we must be on a K-Line ship. Looking at K-Line's shipping schedule out of Bremerhaven, we pretty much have to be on the same ship (the Caribbean Highway) that the others are on. That was actually a pretty quick turnaround at port.
Checking this website, http://www.ais-live.co.uk/AIS%20Live/aissolent.html both the Independence II and the Caribbean Highway can be seen currently docked at Southampton. On a personal note, I may be incommunicado from this evening on, as Hurricane Ike approaches. If it's a dead on strike as is being projected, I will likely be without power for a week or two. Good times. |

TLud - just got back online today. Moderate damage, but I was certainly lucky. At one point I had 18 people in my "refugee" camp. Down to just two families now. Hope all is well with you. Having life and limb sort of puts getting our M3s into perspective.

Mac, good to hear that you and yours are okay. Speaking as a "refugee," I know the people you have staying at your home appreciate your hospitality. My house is still sans power and, according to the power company, won't be back on the grid until middle of next week. Pretty amazing considering that I live in the middle of the city and only a couple of miles from downtown. You're exactly right that this kind of event puts things into perspective.
Today was the first time I thought about trying to track my car. Turns out, as I suspected, I'm actually on the Patriot. The nice thing is that, since it's a WW ship, I can track it pretty well. It's currently en route from Antwerp to Zeebrugge and scheduled to arrive in Charleston on October 4th. Looks like I'll be picking it up on the weekend of the 11th! |
