Nice places to drive to for weekend trip?

In the next month or so we'd like to take a long weekend trip away (probably rent a house). Any good driving trips/locations about an hour or so (2 hours max) outside of Boston that would make for a nice weekend getaway? I realize March is not the best month for a driving trip.

Or should I just stay home and play video games...

Ocean Drive in Newport, RI
Old Kings Highway in Cape Cod, MA
Myles Standish Forrest in Plymouth, MA

Just to name a few but, obviously, they will all be a million times better if you wait until Spring.

It is a famous drive in NH. Climbing Mt. Washington is also fun but the road is probably not open yet.

As for Mt. Washington I've always wanted to climb it but not in the M, I know the toll it can take on the car.

I took my fully built, turbocharged 700 rwhp E36 M3 up Mt. Washington. There is no toll on the car. If it can’t handle it, you should fix the car.

If the cooling system or brakes are not in good shape, there could be problems. I try to stay on top of maintenance, so I had no worries. I’d drive any of my cars up and down.

Any suggestions for just a good day trip driving road?

Personally I always go for a cruise along 117 and 126 metro west concord lincoln.

Would love to hear others suggestions for other nice cruise routes.
