Yikes. Maybe just pocket the insurance money and sell it for a reduced cost as is. I know many of us would prefer to have it fixed at our preferred body shop if possible.

I would be open to that. Basically it needs a rear driver door. And quarter panel has a mark on it but will just need go be repainted.

The car is being fixed at Erhard BMW in Bloomfield Hills Michigan with all new BMW parts.
It will look like new in about a week. With the incident now on the Carfax, I will lower the price to $22,500. All paperwork, pictures, etc will be included with the sale, as well as all paperwork and service history since I bought it March of 2017 at 84k miles. Red can be hard to match/blend well, so hold them to it! While it "looks" bad in the picture, if it's done properly, simply replacing a door is no big deal. It's all in the details and how anal the body shop is in ensuring the hidden areas are properly fixed (i.e. door jambs, etc). It's actually a perfectly lucking looking hit location. A foot further to the rear, and you would have been into a rear quarter panel mess. A foot further to the front, and you would have been into the B-pillar structure. Etc.
Hope it comes out well as this is a beautiful and very rare car.

As a former Michigan resident for many years, I can vouch for the quality of work performed by Erhard, especially the Bloomfield Hills location. They took care of multiple generations of BMWs for me. I can't speak to the body shop itself, but the overall operation is first rate.

Sorry to hear about the damage! Glad it is getting replaced by a top notch dealer! I work with Erhard regularly for parts and use them myself for my E90 M3. GLWS Clean car!

Thank you for the nice comments. Just got an update this AM from the body shop.
The car is currently in paint, will go to reassembly early next week and then tint. Should be done end of next week. Long process but I do appreciate that it is being done right. |

Such a good price on a late model E90! It's too bad I need the sunroof option though for my project.

Have u set a date for your return to CLT? If it is still not sold by then I'd like to take a look. My leased F80 ZCP goes back to BMW in December and I need a daily driver. Four doors is a must.

UPDATE the dealer / bodyshop: The car is in reassembly and will be going to detail in the next day or two. Should be done by the end of the week.

totally sucks due to what this car is—. Sorry man, you may see if his insurance will pay you for diminished value... my buddy got 7k cash on a Tesla when someone hit him and he claimed the value dropped due to accident. This offset money he lost on sale the next month
