No. Read the whole thread. YCW/MFactory used to supply the flanges and a CF tube maker put them together. But the tube maker sold them on the side to others like VAC. YCW/MFactory got upset. Rather than working with the situation such as by licensing with the tube maker, they stopped supplying the tube maker. So for a couple of years neither made money selling BMW shafts. YCW/MFactory thought it was not so hard to make CF shafts so they decided to do it themselves. They have been trying for at least a year and still don’t have it right. I think they will soon. People have been waiting a couple of years. Give it another few months.
To their credit, if it was really easy, someone else would have stepped in. Don’t get impatient and buy a Diveshaft Shop driveshaft. I have one on my E36M3 and it sucks on a daily driver due to NVH from deleting the giubo. I have the “illegal” YCW/MFactory shaft from VAC (it’s identical) on my E90M3 and it’s great — no increase in NVH. What VAC is selling now is the Driveshaft Shop driveshaft and I would not recommend it for a street car because it will add NVH that may be very significant at high speed like 100+. If the shaft contacts anything and rubs, it will fail. Otherwise the concern is the bonding of the shaft to the flanges, which is what YCW/MFactory is still working on getting right.

a few days after i installed mine, i was paranoid about a heat shield making contact or moving (irrationally, somehow). i thought i heard something and stuck a finger near where the heat shield ends, and the differential starts and i felt a huge gob of grease from a grease ring that got slung out from the joint.
nothing was touching- what i was hearing was my rear brake pads against the rotors (i left the race pads in). i don't know if its serviceable or not, but i'm not looking forward to it if it involves removing the driveshaft.

Yeah it's quite a tight fit down there, between the thicker CF driveshaft, exhaust heatshield, and aftermarket exhaust.

Ok guys, have some good news
Our sample driveshafts have finally passed the "machine testing" phase, and we are now entering the "vehicle testing" phase. Carbon tube strength as well as our CV joint performance has not changed over our previous iteration. The only difference with this Gen.2 driveshaft is the way we physically join the carbon tube and CV/Flanges together. Unlike with the Gen.1 (and every other carbon driveshaft on the market, be it aftermarket or oem), we do not just simply "bond" them together with glue. Our new design physically "locks" them together as well, minimising the chance of them coming apart. We have a few E92 M3 samples to hand, and will be looking for testers, who will be offered the driveshafts at a preferential discount over the pre-order pricing. I DO NOT have pricing just now, and cannot discuss that on this thread, so you will need to keep an eye out for my threads over on the E90 forums |

If you've not had issues with your joints/tube coming apart, you should be fine, as if it was to happen, it would have happened within the first thousand or so miles.

Update
Sorry for the late update. With the holidays, and now a trade show in the UK, I've been a little overwhelmed. The good news is that we now have a test sample ready to ship out for the E92 M3, and will reply to all the PM's received next week after I get back to the office from the trade show. If you've sent a PM, my apologies for not yet replying. I will reply to every PM I will also start a new thread over on e90post and will post up the pre-order pricing. We will have fitments available initially for the E46 M3, E92 M3 and 335i (after testing of course). I'll update this thread again next week |
