2009 E90 M3 Dct, third owner purchased @ 50,xxx miles. Currently @ 127,xxx miles and counting.

Original TA's and rod bearings.

Regular oil change every 10,000 miles with LiquiMoly 10w60
spark plugs every 40,000 miles. mostly highway miles, original brakes lasted 90,000 miles!

Let it warm up and drive it spiritedly. No track time.

Runs like a dream and pulls hard!

Just hit 6 digits! Now it's finally broken in. All it needed since I bought it was an idler bearing and a thermostat. Not bad at all.

Just hit 100,000 miles!!
2009 BMW M3, 3rd owner, purchased at 46,000 miles.

- Original RB
- TA replaced at 85,000 miles
- Battery replaced at 90,000 miles.
- Oil change every 6,000 miles with Liqui Moly 10w60.

90% highway, occasional spirited driving.
I try not to go over 3,500rpm during warm up.
Looking forward to hit 200,000 miles!

Coming up on 130K now... This year the car has definitely nickel and dimed me on repairs. I did the following -

1. Throttle actuators around 120k (forget if I mentioned that before)
2. Valve cover gaskets, plug well seals, all new hardware, and plugs at 121k
3. Fuel pressure vent at 120k
4. Fuel transfer pump at 123k
5. Front brake pads at 125k
6. Currently replacing driveshaft due to a seized CV joint, seized Ujoint, and noisy center bearing at 130k. Can't believe both were seized.
7. Might as well change the trans mounts as well as diff and trans fluid again at 130k while I'm there (2nd time on fluids since I've owned it since 70k)
8. Belts, idler pulleys, power steering pump pulley, and upper radiator hose at 128k.

Probably $3k-$3500 this year on parts alone. Obviously cheaper than a car payment, however, not expecting that for sure. I'm figuring motor mounts and suspension will probably be next on the list. I'm shooting for 200k before I sell it.

No track just spirited driving a well. No idea if bearing were done before me but if not, Original Bearings! Liquid Molly every 5-6k what has been replaced; just did Throttle Valve actuator myself , o2 sensors, Right side Back Light Assembly, Cup holders, the felt undershirt. Other than that just tires and breaks..... I live in NY tires are replaced to often lol

This is my favorite thread. Thanks to Nuse for starting this in 2012.

Since I love to drive, and am absolutely enamored with my E93 (driving it any chance I get, which is basically any day the roads are dry, even when I'm just going to the grocery store a few miles away), this thread warms my heart.

I hope I'm posting one day, with a 2013 E93 with 200,000 miles, and still rolling.

09 E90 with 115k checking in. 2nd owner as of 94k

Immediately had all fluids, filters, plugs and of course bearings changed out when I took over ($3,700+ all in). Previous owner had all records in a file and no surprises amongst them except I didn’t see any TA’s being replaced.

Only big ticket/unexpected items I’ve had since initial once over is battery, alternator, brake disks/pads and a tiny oil leak. Other than that, just oil changes every 7500 miles.

Knock on wood but car is healthy and runs well. DCT is finicky at times but overall does what it’s asked to do.

Since your car, year, and mileage literally matches my purchase specs from a few months ago, exactly, do you mind posting/PMing some pictures of your valve covers and gaskets so I can compare to mine? I also did bearings just after purchasing at 96K, so just curious how mine compare...

No, I am second owner.....I purchased it with 60k miles. It was a spotlessly clean, well maintained car but with no service history available. I took a chance! I'm now about to hit 146K miles but always worry about cold start wear as here in New Jersey, air temperatures can range from 100+f to 0-5f in the winters. I use LiquiMoly 10w-60 year round (change @6K miles), let it warm properly and hope for the best LOL. I am getting quotes currently on replacing the bearings (@2900 usd w/engine mounts).

I'm at about 90.5K now, bought at 83.5K 10/2018. Not a daily driver, but I usually drive for pleasure most nights after work in the mountains and take road trips every weekend, and drive round trip to LA every 2 months. I put about 1-2k per month on it, on average.

Oil every 5k w/ Castrol Edge Supercar 10w60 (except last time, where I had it done at the dealership b/c I was there for other reasons, so that was BMW oil obviously)

Original RBs.

Needed:
Tstat
Actuators (x2)
Front undertray

Needs (under warranty but I have a deductible so waiting to find the time to check everything and get them to do it all in one bill):
Engine mounts
New cables for the vert top (they're fine but they are starting to fray a little bit)
Spark plugs
Valve cover gaskets (x2)

I've noticed a small noise that sounds a bit like tip-in knock when the engine's lugging around 2k (can only hear it with the windows up through the dash). I still have about 30k miles on my warranty, so honestly as sacrilegious as it sounds, I'd be happy to have the engine blow and get a reman'd one, but I'll probably bring it in when I finally get a chance to go to the dealership and get it all done at once.

Good to hear all is well with yours, but it's not a high mileage 2008 per the thread title?

Not my car, but there was a 150k mile e92 from Oklahoma in the shop I was at today in Dallas getting transmission service done. Figured I'd report it in if he's not on this forum. Don't have any other details really, but I was impressed
