I first did this road with cowmoo32 in our E46 325s. I've done it more times than I count, many times the Cherohala loop, and go twice a year (spring/fall) with a great group of BMW enthusiasts. We rent cabins in Gatlinburg and make a trip out of it. We go in the early morning hours on weekdays to avoid traffic and cops. We are going again Memorial Day weekend (the week before), so check out the Meets forum on Bimme rDriver s.com if you are interested in joining. I just did a mid-winter trip to TOD.
