What is this part?

I recently had a window issue. Naturally I removed the door panel and found this sitting in the bottom of the door.

Can anyone tell me where this goes or what it is? I can't find it on any parts diagrams nor does it have any meaningful part numbers on it.

It doesn't look "BMW", especially from an '08. I'm likely wrong.

It looks like it supports the motor end of the motor/gearbox. Look in the bottom of the door for the screw (#9) that holds it in place.
