Thanks for the info roastbeef and Chuck. I tried some Endless ME20 track pads with the OEM calipers for two track days and they really bit hard initially. I'm not too experienced with tracking or race pads so not sure if it just takes more experience adapting to a race pad or there are different styles.

i'm not too experienced either. i've only ran three different pads in my 5060 brakes so far, ds2500's, dsuno's, and ds1.11's (in that order). i discovered i really liked the bite of the uno's. you'll sort of figure out what you like as you move through different pads.

Hold your horses on these photos folks. Turns out I printed the template with my acrobat set at "fit to page". I just reprinted the template to "actual size" and it looks like you would require a spacer to fit the CP9660 behind the 219M wheel. Dang.

Hi Guys,
We received some more great feedback on our blog and the nice pic below from The Motorsport Experience regarding our Essex Designed Radi-CAL BBK. They rent their cars out for track days in Northeast. Their customers and tech were all quite impressed with the change in the car's behavior. |

Hello Gents...wanted to add some updated wheel fitment info to this thread.
If you have confirmed wheel fitments for our brake kits, please list the specifics so we can add them to our database. Thank you very much! Brand, model, size, offset (examples below) CP9660 caliper, takes 18mm thick pad Essex CP9660/372mm Radi-CAL fitments: Confirmed wheels that fit without a spacer: OEM 19x9" front Competition ZCP Wheel OEM 220M 19x8.5" APEX ARC-8 18x10" +25 APEX EC-7 18x9.5" +22 APEX EC-7 18x10" +25 BBS FI 18x9.5" +22 OZ Challenge HLT 18x10" +25 Volk TE37 18x9.5 +22 Wheels that require spacer: OEM 219M wheels with a 15mm spacer Wheel fitment template for 9660/372mm= https://www.essexparts.com/storage/w...l_template.pdf CP9668 caliper, takes 25mm thick pad Essex CP9668/372mm Radi-CAL fitments: The caliper on this kit sticks out approximately 14mm further towards the wheels spokes when compared to the CP9660 caliper. If the front matching wheel fits, the rear typically does as well, with considerable room to spare. Hi Guys,
I've been spending too much time over in Porsche-land lately and wanted to check in with the M crowd. Does anybody have any updated wheel fitment data? How about reviews, pictures, video, or info on event wins? Thanks gents! |

Also, for those considering one of our Radi-CAL kits, we wrote a guide on choosing between the CP9660 and CP9668. You can check it out in the link below:

Jeff, what do you recommend for cleaning the calipers? I have a couple of rubber "skid marks" where a piece of rubber from the track got caught between the wheel and the caliper. TIA

Thanks for the data point!

https://www.amazon.com/Mothers-09224.../dp/B005R5WGCS It seemed really gentle on my paint. The rubber literally just wipes right off in many cases with very little to almost no pressure or scrubbing. I few of the tougher scuffs took a bit more work. I don't know 100%, but I don't believe it would hurt the calipers at all. I would first test it on the back side of the caliper that isn't visible. Again, it seemed pretty gentle on my paint and didn't leave any issues. |

Along those value lines, we have just formed the "Essex Designed AP Racing Brake Kit Owners Club" on Facebook. The group will be a digital extension of what we've seen among our customers out at the track, which is like-minded car nuts parking next to each other and sharing stories, ideas, photos, setup tips, pad advice, discussing future track events, etc. Not only will group members be able to interact with other Essex brake kit owners, Essex will be offering a number of exclusive perks and opportunities that will only be available to group members. How do giveaways, discounts on spares, contests, and even unique schwag sound? The only prerequisite to join this group is that you need to own an Essex Designed AP Racing Competition Brake Kit. To keep things fair for other members, we will ask you a couple of questions to verify kit ownership prior to approval. If you have one of our brake kits, click this link to join our group: Meet Other Essex Brake Kit Owners Now Thanks! Thank you all very much for your continued support! |
