There isn't a 'right' setting in my opinion. Adjustability and customization is why we bought coilovers for anyway right?

Your settings should match your driving style. I don't daily the car and I do 6-8 hpde events a year. This was in line with the article and it spoke to me when I read it.

i have email with ohlins and the rep has told me he recommends equal settings f/r. i've experimented myself with stiffer front, or stiffer rear, etc, but at the end, always come back to equal settings. i find if the roads are bumpy, having equal settings produces the most flat and balanced feeling ride.

I pulled these settings off of Ohlins project car article they posted on their website.

TBH, Haven't tried any other settings but these settings feel fine and The car feels a lot more planted, closer feel to my F82 which is a lot to say
If you haven't tried any other settings, how do you know these settings make your car a lot more planted
In any case, 5F and especially 10R seem way too soft to me...

He's likely comparing it to OEM.

I came from EDC equipped which felt very soft and plenty of body roll.

I was at Sebring last month and tried 10/10 and shortly went back to 5/10. Totally subjective but it felt great to me.

I still haven't tried 0/5 or something super stiff like that

Thread revival!!

I think I finally found the article you're talking about. It was taken off the Ohlins site, so the old link doesn't work.

New link:
http://www.evo.co.uk/sponsored/16903/what-can-hlins-suspension-do-on-track

I recently installed a set of Ohlins on my car and they're amazing! I was used to the firm ride of swift springs, so I'm currently at 10F and 10R. I tried the 5/10 combo, but it felt weird to me, so I went back to 10/10. There's no right or wrong answer here, it's adjustable to you liking.

Hoping new ohlins owners can chime in on their preferred settings.

Found this interesting pdf from Renault, who I guess has a performance contract with Ohlins.

Obviously the Renault is a light weight FWD car and we have heavy RWD cars, but the pdf is an interesting read nonetheless.

How stiff is Ohlins compared to stock dampers

Hi guys, I am about to buy the Ohlins R&T set and I want to ask how stiff/stiffer is Ohlins compared to stock EDC dampers (let's say in the hardest sport setting). Thanx

Hard to explain. Best to find someone local and ride along.

You feel the suspension working with the ohlins, it absorbs a lot of big impacts.

I've driven ohlins on 5/5 (0/0 is the hardest setting), and it's more comfortable than edc set to sport.

The ohlins is firm if you want it to be, but never jarring like edc set to sport. Sport feels to stiff and bumps upset the car.

Running 8F 10R but I need to raise the car a bit. Once that is done I will test softer settings.

So I have found this post after doing some digging and went to the car to start playing with my dampening. Found this on the front the knob somehow came off and I was missing 1 knob in the front (shown here) and just 1 in the rear. Very odd..

So I ordered and installed the knobs correcting and am now just starting at 10/10 (0-Full Stiff). I do a lot of canyon driving and the front is rubbing pretty hard against the fender liner. I believe the front was closer to 12-13 clicks in the front and the rear.. well who knows cause after 15 clicks to go full hard I just set it to my liking.

My plan is to run 12R/10F or 10/10 street
& 8R/5F Track / Canyon
