I'm getting my car back tomorrow with the vibra technics mounts. I'll let you know how they feel.

Bummer but better that it broke now than later. Will revisit this purchase at a later date.
How anticlimactic for us!

Lol, my sincere apologies. Will report back with my thoughts on the freshly installed stock mounts.

got the car back and took the scenic route home so i could take it through some twisty roads.
initial impression- i love it. the car feels much more planted and solid. i recently did the tension arm monoballs, and now with the vibra technics motor mounts (road going version), and sub/diff bushings, everything seems to be working as a whole. i'm convinced every little thing enhances the other and magnifies the benefits of each part more than if it were just the single part alone.
i can feel the road much more now. its not noisey at all, its all feel- and its good feel. i feel like the subframe bushings allow for the rear suspension to function properly and in-turn, the front suspension works more efficiently as well.

throttle response has definitely improved mechanically. there is a lot less clunk when downshifting (DCT). i thought my dct was causing the clunk when slowing down, but it was mostly the subframe. i wasn't expecting that.

i noticed a tiny tiny bit of diff whine with the windows up and radio off. i only heard it because i was trying to hear it. windows down- didn't hear it. radio on- no chance.
the vibra technics road-going motor mounts add zero NVH. zero negatives with those.

also replaced, is the two tiny rubber brake lines that mount to a tab on the subframe. these are now stainless braided. when i get my rear essex brake kit, i'll be doing stainless lines, and will then have 100% hard lines or stainless braided lines throughout my car.

i'm very happy and can't wait to feel the difference on track.

dj_dub and roastbeef I am revisiting this purchase now as I'm about to change my oil pan (and possibly rod bearings). I'm curious if you are still enjoying the Vibra-technics engine mounts? Since I am lowering the sub-frame this would be a great time to do the swap.

Based on BW's feedback, I will be doing:

Solid subframe mounts
Black PowerFlex diff mounts which add very little noise
BW GroupN engine mounts
Front thrust bushing

Generally sounds good. If you have DCT I would go for Purple diff mounts to reduce noise, if 6MT either black or purple are probably fine. Also of note, I was unimpressed with the quality of the BW Group-N engine mounts but I know others have had better luck. BW will stand behind them if you have trouble regardless. Enjoy the mods!

I have one of each, so I'll follow your advice when the time comes.

Did your BW mounts break? I've only heard good things about that.

The front thrust bearing I already have done on one of the M3s, it works great and has lasted two seasons already

Unfortunately yeah, the bottom threaded bolt broke off one of the mounts during install and was rusty at the break point. Since my car was on a lift at a shop (the rare time I wasn't doing the work myself) BW let me return both mounts and the originals went back in. Probably a fluke bad part but it was enough that I bought the Vibra Technics when I repurchased. I haven't installed them yet but plan to soon (when I do my rod bearings).

That sucks. I'll see what happens but I'll have two sets of engine mounts available when I do the first car

I'll try to do the rod bearing DIY this year. I just have to bribe a friend to lend me his shop for the weekend...

The only drivetrain mount I didn't change was the tranny mount. I tried it and the noise inside the cabin was too much.
Curious if you are still happy with the AKG engine mounts?

Never had an issue with them. I recently took them off because of the extra vibrations inside the cabin otherwise they performed flawlessly.

After two not so great engine mount experiences (manufacturing quality issues both times), I'm finally ready to try another set. For the one track weekend I experienced aftermarket mounts during, they were great, my car felt extremely dialed in.

Trying to decide between the AKG Poly mounts and Black Forest Industries Stage II or III. I only drive my car on the street 3-4 times a month now so NVH is not a huge concern, I still want some semblance of street-ability though.

Anyone have any feedback on the BFI mounts? ilikebmxbikes I recall you mentioning them in another thread, did you go Stage II, any thoughts?

I have black forest hybrid mounts paired with the turner trans mounts. They are great. My car is super loud in so many regards so I cant really comment on how much noise and vibration they specifically introduce but the car is solid. The mounts were quality and have held up.

Same but on E46 track car, the whole drivetrain is on AKG 75D. With the inline 6 my side mirrors are useless at idle. Very happy with them.
