Dealer's Price to install MPE

Call the dealership today to see how much they will charge to install the M Perfomance exhaust & she quotes me a price of $ 390.00!

Is it just me or does this price seem extremly high......

That's pretty high. I think I paid $300 to install the entire Akra system.. maybe it was $200? Can't remember.

$400 for just the rear section is on the high side and seems about right for a dealership.

On a lift, that's a less than 1 hour install. On my back with rhino ramps from start to finish took me about an hour and 15 minutes. If you lived near-by, I'd do it for you for nothing.

Maybe she misunderstood me and thought I had a full exhaust, I'll call back tomorrow and explain it's just the rear section.

A buddy and a basic set of tools is all you need... or any muffler shop can do it.

I paid $120 while in Virginia. The shop even offered to drop me off/pick me up from the office.

As long as it's a quality exhaust, which it is, the shop should not run into any issues during the installation.

Had MPE installed last week week along with a BMC drop in air filter at the dealer, for $325. I little on the high side, however I can sleep at night because I know it's done right. And it sounds great!

Thanks for all the input everyone!

Glad they went down a few dollars and agree that peace of mind is worth a little extra money

FYI, the exhaust I can understand but if for any reason that drop in filter causes detrimental damage to your engine the stealership will NOT take responsibility even if they did the install.

It is like saying if your engine blows ESS is held liable even though a 3rd party did the install on their SC..

My local exhaust shop charges $50 for a muffler install. I wouldn't pay the dealership premium for a simple exhaust swap.

Seems in line with dealer pricing.

I was quoted $300 by my dealer to install my Dinan exhaust.
