Installed on OEM 19s for a few days.... +10mm since you have to do at least that if you bought your tires in the US right now to my knowledge.

I've been running LM-25s on VMR 710 for almost 5 months now.... so it's hard to remember what it was like going from "mostly worn out" PS2s to the new PSS. And having not owned the PS2s when they were new, I can't really comment on improvement over PS2... but I can say this; so far, I'm extremely impressed. I had them mounted and balanced on the GSP9700 and also figured WTF might as well get an alignment (even though I didn't FEEL like it needed it, you're spending so much $$ you might as well go all the way, lol).

My E90 just went from a "dull hammer" to a surgeon's scalpel, it's akin to what it must be like to be an old man who drinks a mysterious magical elixer and becomes young again. I found myself checking my speed into corners because the level of grip is to the point where repeated hard cornering induces nausea and lightheadeness. Ok well that might be a slight exagerration, but not completely!!!

Time will tell if these are truly better than PS2s in all categories like the claims state. I absolutely look forward to finding out!

Do they rub on the strut because of the geometry change or the outboard fender wall because of the spacers?

I'm sure it's the fender. There's about 300 yards of room on the inside in the rear.

Andy from Morr's just sent me a picture of mine that are now waiting to be installed on my VS8.2 wheels.

I'm very excited coming from Ventus EVO V12s which were just "OK".

For anyone mounting 295/30/19 in the rear, could you please take pics that can illustrate clearance and mention if your M3 is lowered or had camber adjustments? As well, love to know if any other members with HRE P40s are considering putting PSS's on in this size.

I tried PZero's two years ago in this size and had rubbing on the wheel well over bumps. Turns out 1010 tires shipped me the Audi spec PZero in this size, but they refused to take it back so I had to switch out to 285's. Not sure I want to go through that again.

Thanks!

I'm interested to find out how these compare to Vreds. I like the Vreds because they are cheap, grippy, and seem to have an excellent tread life. However, on certain roads it can be a little noisy and being on 20s make for a somewhat bumpy ride.

Installed

Installed the Super Sports yesterday 255/35 and 275/35. I have done basic street driving at this point, but here are some impressions:

1) Shoulder is more square than the PS2 or Conti, I believe it is a bit stiffer as well. From a cosmetic standpoint I actually prefer the more rounded shoulder of the PS2.
2) Just based on visuals, the tires seem more than 10mm wider than stock, so they may come a bit wider than the PS2.
3) The rubber on the outside of the tire seems to be softer to the touch than the center of the tire, maybe a different compound.
4) They are quiet, very quiet even at highway speed. Since I went wider than stock I expected the tire noise to be louder, but definately not.
5) Similar to the PS2 ride quality is very good, not harsh at all.

Probably won't get them on the track until June, but so far seem solid.

Couple of pics are attached.

Are you running any spacers with your setup?

That is exactly the question I wanted to ask...they look more laterally situated than I though 275's would have looked.

i'm also running 255 in the front and 275 in the rear on stock suspension.

about 100 miles on it so far, not even really broken in and yes they are pretty quite. now we'll just have to see how they wear after 12k miles

Nice...do you feel that there is still enough room to go to 15mm F & 12mm R?

The outer band of the tire is a carbon black elastomer for dry handling and braking, supposedly developed in Le Mans endurance racing; the inner 75% or so is a wet compound elastomer.

I'm on stock suspension (non zcp), with the GTS wheels. With my setup I think there is room to go with 15mm front and 12 mm rear. If you have the competition package or after market springs it would be tight.

I did a 3 day HPDE at Summit Point this past weekend...
As practice for 2011 Tire Rack One Lap of America.

Mine is a STOCK 2011 ZCP Sedan. It has maxed factory equipment front negative camber spec @ -1.7 degrees. I'm running 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 PSS on ZCP OEM Wheels, still with stagger.

Quick impressions:
In the WET with full tread depth you can leave EVERYONE in the spray if brave enough. Went a while on MDM and then finally stopped "cheating". The tires are brilliant. I'm praying for rain on One Lap, except I don't want all our junk to get wet... Hmmm.

I was able to push these hard for most of a 20 minute dry session and they don't get greasy. They were very consistent. Jefferson Circuit is tough on a 3700 pound car and I did not fare as well as I do when running an E90 M3 at the Lightning or Thunderbolt NJMP Circuits by comparison. Summit Point main is also pretty tough on tires. Being lazy and not getting camber plates for additional negative camber is a drawback here.
My front outer shoulders definitely took a beating.

One Lap is a series of "3 hot lap" sprints.
3-4 20 minute sessions a day is another level of (ab)use all together.

Michelin has an impressive product here. Bravo!
