map sensor location? p0106 dtc
Anyone know where is the map sensor located on the e92 m3? I got a CEL and the codes that popped up are p0106 = map sensor, and p0152d = O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1. Im gonna replace the map sensor first to see how that goes but does anyone know where the map sensor is located? Thank you

I have been told by a reliable source that since the M3 is Mafless by design, the MAP sensor is the cars basis for measuring the amount of air in the manifold, and thus how much fuel to inject.
A problem with MAP reading could cause fuel trims to go awry or other unintended problenms. I would clear the fault first and see if they reappear. If the MAP sensor one does appear, replace the sensor, clear the faults, and you should be ok from there. Last edited by THE TECH; 08-09-2012 at 03:35 PM.. |

That's a picture of the map sensor for people that might have the same problem. |

I tried to clear the code and it still comes back right away. It's either the map sensor or the o2 sensor. I'm guessing the map sensor is throwing off the o2 sensor.

Replace the MAP sensor first and then clear the faults. Without the MAP sensor reading properly, the car may go into 'Limp Mode' as MAP is one of the main inputs to determine fueling since the car is mafless. P0106 is a Generic OBD II code and not a specific BMW fault, which would start with P1xxx. Good luck, let us know if the new MAP sensor fixes the o2 fault.

I'll let u guys know... I replaced the map sensor but along the way I broke a clamp so I'll have to pick one up tomorrow before I close everything up. The old map sensor is kinda wet when I removed it. It's also a pain in the butt removing it because the lack of room on the firewall. I'll keep u guys posted 2m.

I had this sensor go out on a 335 and the car was barely driveable.

just got done replacing the map sensor and now the car is ok. im not sure if reoiling the filter had anything to do with it but i did that couple weeks ago. Theres a hose on the back of the plenum that goes to the idle control valve. The clamp that goes into the plenum, one side of the clip broke. Im pretty sure it will be ok to run it like that, anyone wanna chime in on it?
