We were there 2 months ago at the Tail, couldn't spend much time. So planned to go in fall again. But I will like to go with fellow enthusiasts |

Should I bring my e92 M3 or my e39 M5. I'm kinda leaning towards the M5. What do you think?

Change of plans on the shirts: At this time we have over 45 members whom have committed to meeting us on the run. After speaking with a few members it is official, this is going to be a charity run. We have secured four sponsors whom are vendors on M3post. Each sponsor has donated an item that we shall raffle off and all proceeds 100% will go to a charity (still working the charity part out). I'll be announcing the sponsors in my next few posts and what their gifts to the run are. With this in mind there has been a change of plans with the shirts. Each member will need to purchase their own shirt. Although Abdul really wanted to pay for the shirts, we felt that his resources could be better used by being an actual sponsor of the run. He is therefore donating items to be raffled off.
We are still working on the cost for the shirts. Will update as soon as I know. The design however has been settled on and a mock up created. We have also made up a banner and stickers. The stickers will still be free and the banner will be given to the member voted on by the members of the run with the best ride. As mentioned above we officially have four sponsors on board also who are each donating an item to be auctioned off. The sponsors will be on the shirts and the banner but not the stickers due to space. |

As mentioned, still working on the charity/families that this run has evolved into helping.
spazzyfry123 girlfriend Ivey works with charities in the Atlanta area. I was hoping to help out some folks closer to the Tail but that will all sort itself out shortly. All Children's Hospital and Wounded Warriors are two charities that I happen to like but we will know more shortly. |

Our official sponsors are:
FCP Euro $250 gift certificate. Abdul@mpowermotorsports One throttle actuator and a set of rod bearings. deansbimmer MporiumBmw One underbody panel. Alex@AlpineMSS One ECU tune. Special thanks to Jobe. who is donating a PSDesigns alcantara armrest delete which looks awesome by the way. I would also like to thank: EprezM3vert He is donating his time, money and resources to print up the stickers and the banner. Erik may also be printing up the shirts. Trying to work out the best possible price we can at this time. m3jala Will be looking into the best possible prices for the shirts. Jens is also setting up a FB page for the run. thasuperdude Randy has done some incredible work by taking the original logo and making it that much better. His mock up of the shirts and banner have been first class by adding sponsor names and making the logo pop off of the shirts! DreamTime & ThreePedalSteve will be writing about this event. And another special thanks to my think tank: GetLit thetastelingers spazzyfry123 Without these three guys there is no fundraiser. |

Charity/fundraiser: Here is how it is all going to work out. I have promised each sponsor that 100% of the money collected from the raffles are going to be dispersed to said charities.
We are going to be selling raffle tickets. Tickets will be $50 per ticket. Which gives you one chance to win one of the sponsors donated gifts. Of course you may purchase more than one raffle ticket. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RUN TO PURCHASE A TICKET. As a matter of fact I am hoping that those who live too far away will join us in helping raise as much money as we can. Know any cool car people who are not members? That's fine, it's all about raising the money and helping others. You also do not have to purchase a ticket and if you like, we are happy to accept a donation of any size big or small. Every dollar will be documented here in the threads. I will start a new thread and link it here and to the OP. I will list each member who has purchased a ticket and or if they have given a donation and the amount. Full accountability. As far as how to collect the money I have not worked that out yet but I will not be accepting any money and will defer to someone with much more experience than I in these types of matters. I will however be the lead person accepting PM's and will then contact our money person. Of course in lieu of a PM feel free to post in the thread and I'll add you to the list and let you know how to make the payment. See below for the list. It is in the General threads. 2nd Annual Tail of Dragon Charity list https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1519982 |

Boof, not to add work for you, but do you mind adding the state next to people's names that are attending....so we can start contemplating caravans down to the Tail. I'm tempted to take a few extra days coming from MD, and driving down through the mountains on the way to the Tail (which would add time, but double the enjoyment of the whole trip). Maybe some others will want to join me.
I think this is basically a Saturday Tail event. But I'm contemplating leaving Thursday morning, and taking a 2-day, fun-filled scenic drive down to Tennessee....arriving Friday night. The roads between here and there are quite exhilarating too if you stay off the highway, so why not make the most of the trip? |
