Windshield Washer Pump
Recently I have been getting the low washer fluid message and after topping up and not using any fluid the message returned. A quick search and it appears to be a leaking washer pump. The repair seems easy enough but the part at the dealer ship is $130 and on Amazon i see it for $10-$30. Anyone try these Amazon ones before? There are little to no reviews so I don't want to use these and then have it fail a month later.
Just wanted to see if anyone has a link to a shop where I can buy it from otherwise I think I am out $130 from the dealership. For reference here is the part number: 67127302589. Thanks |

You are probably right about OEM. I just don't trust those cheap parts as you do not know if it will fail again or worse have some electrical issues. I tried ECS but after the shipping (which apparently is not free for Canada) and exchange rate the price is actually the same as the dealer. I guess I am heading over to the dealer today. Thanks for your help. |

There's a video on YouTube of an individual who has the same problem, I did as wel, and used his method. The super glue has held up for over 5 months. Just another method if you don't want to expend money |

The superglue is a patch job that you can hold off of. If you're in Toronto you can go to certain dealerships that have 10% of parts if you're part of some enthusiast groups or try germanparts.ca. Mine also broke about two years ago and I went that route. Easy DYI anyway so you save on any labour.

I rolled the dice with the Amazon ones for my daily driven 328i last summer. No issues at all and it's been a year.

I ultimately went with the OEM one. Was a simple install which took less than an hour.
Tip: After installing and putting everything back together I tested the spay and everything looked good. A few min later I see fluid on the floor so I'm like WTF. Spayed again and more fluid came. Thought I installed it wrong so took everything apart again and found that the fluid leaking was simply from the drain (ie. excess fluid drains behind the wheel well in a similar spot to the original pump leak when you spay your windshield). Its actually on both sides of the car but i never noticed because i only usually spay while driving. In this case i was parked. |
