Ground Clearance

I have searched and can't seem to find a straight answer.

Does anyone know what the ground clearance is of the e92? I have seen 4.5".

If you have a ZCP car, that will work. Adding 10mm is a no-brainer.

Here is what 10mm additional looks like, it could be 4.5”, but I haven’t measured it?

The little felt boxes under the front bumper give it less clearance than you'd expect, but it's still not too bad.

E82, where in Los Angeles are you?

Would love to check out your Dakar in person - looks stunning! And I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice.

SoCal meet anyone?

Ok, I measured. There are two (2) what appear to be Skid-Pads (one on each side) on the underside, which are lower than the bottom of the front bumper. They are 4.5 inches from the ground. The actual bumper is more like 6 inches from the ground.

The lowest part in the front consists of THREE 'furry' parts that sit at the same height below the bumper. Those parts attach to the bumper, by the way, but are BEHIND the bumper, so if you hit a parking stop or something, the bumper would be scratched first. The middle part, which is the widest, is a 'scoop' to deflect hot air from the oil cooler below the car. The 2 outer parts are basically below the bumper inlets for air intake and tranny cooler. And no, none of those parts would clear a parking stop, curb, etc., so drivers need to be careful to park sufficiently far away from those.

I’m trying not to SCRAPE when exiting any driveways! Parking stops, I will back-in!

If you have a ZCP car, that will work. Adding 10mm is a no-brainer.
For my 2008 M3 E90, on stock BMW 19" rims and standard-spec 19" tires, I measure 3 3/4" at the lowest point I can find in the front (see the pic).

In the pic, it's three inches for the tape measure body plus 3/4" extension of the tape.

I'd say that point and the diff fins would be the lowest points.
