so is it just the 5series and X1 plants that are staying open or the M3 production line as well? The article linked earlier only stated those 2..just wondering if there was any further confirmation regarding the M3 production continuing, taking the 3 week off, or taking only 2 weeks off? The automated system tells me my order will finish production 12/21, but not sure how that's possible if they are closing down from 12/18-1/10.....
GOLFRRR, any word on the factory shutdown dates, if any?

Any others with a week 50 build waiting for their car?
I placed my order on December 2. The 1-800 number says that my car has been released to the carrier and is awaiting transportation. Wondering how long it will take before it arrives on the west coast...hopefully not too long. Ha ha, the wait is definitely difficult. Last edited by ucsdsig; 12-16-2010 at 11:29 PM.. |

I haven't even driven the car yet and I'm wheel shopping for 20" wheels.. Somehow I don't think if the car was here I would be doing this much shopping.. I'm turning into an impatient depressed shopaholic... If this keeps up I won't be able to afford the car when it gets here.. so I need it here soon. In addition to that I'm calling BMW USA 4 times each day, spending more time on this stupid board every night and getting less sleep at night. My f#cken life has been put on a complete halt, even refusing to drive my other car anywhere not work related. So to get my mind off the darn car I'm going to Volunteer a week in Haiti next week for the Christmas holidays to put me back in touch with reality and what's really important in life, as I'm clearly loosing my f@#ken mind waiting.. Please pray for me.. this is serious and life really sucks right now.. : confused0068: |

How are you going to Haiti? On your own dime, or with an organization?
If you want, PM with details. I would go.

My own dime.. I own my own IT company and also sit on the board of a Non Profit org that we are sponsoring for this Christmas Holiday mission. We will be there handing out thousands of shoes, toys and school supplies to a ton of needy kids and families in Haiti..

This is all well and good and I enjoyed reading it, but does anyone know the approximate turn-around from dealer order to actually getting the car at the dealer? Is it around 60 days? 90 days?
Thanks. Considering an M3 sedan. |

It all depends on your dealers allocation. You can order your car in week 1, but if the dealer doesn't have a allocation or something they can slide in, you are SOL until their next allocation. That could be weeks down the road. Once you're in production, it's about a 6 week wait (on avg.) ...........Phil
