Split armrest not locking into position

Hello everyone. My split armrest sliding section is not locking into position anymore. It just slides back and forth freely with every acceleration or braking.
Anyone with a fix suggestion?

That would leave it in a permanent fixed position. I used to be able to leave it at either forward or aft positions and it would stay there.

Take it apart and see what you find. There has to be a spring loaded ball bearing type of thing that locks it in each position.

Thank you Upsrod. I have been looking for a tutorial on how to take it apart and so far I've found nothing. Do you know of a source where I can look for this?
