M3 doing 118 mph on I-5 near South Salem

From today's Oregonian. Hope it's no one here - doesn't sound too smart:
The article talks first about a Marion Co. Sherrif deputy arresting a motorcyclist for doing 107 mph and reckless driving.

"Then about 2:45 pm, Postlewait was entering I-5 from the Delaney Road on-ramp in South Salem when he saw a 2005 Black BMW M3 driving fast northbound on the freeway, ... Postlewait clocked the BMW at 118 mph in the 55 mph zone [edit: I actually think it's 60 there]. As he was stopping the vehicle he could see that the driver was holding a small video camera, taking photos of the deputy's traffic car...

The driver, Stanislav Bakanov, 30, of Keizer, admitted going 90 to 100 mph. When asked why he was driving so fast, he told Postlewait his explanation was going to sound stupid, but he was amking a video to post on YouTube.

Bakanov then played back the video of his driving for the deputy. It contained footage of his speedometer with the needle pegged near the top of the dial. It also showed footage of Postlewait's patrol car pulling bakanaov over. Bakanov had fashioned a mount on the windshield to hold the camera while he drove.

Bakanov was arrested on an accusation of reckelsss driving, and taken to Marion County jail. He was also cited for speeding, and his car was impounded. Bakanov's driving record shows that this was his third speeding incident in the past year"

Haha... claiming 90-100mph only, then showing the cop footage of the speedometer topped out....
