Selling M3 snows- good deal locally
Hey guys,
I bought this car a week ago and it came with blizzak ws-70s 245/40/18 square set up all around. tires are in mint shape, and the dealer wouldnt swap me over to non winter rubber. The tires fit fine, although they do look a bit "stretched" on the rears. Since I also have a 4Runner, I have no business driving an M3 in the snow, and am happy to sell these at a good price locally to offset my summer rubber purchase price. Whos got reasonable offers? PM me or reply to this message. Thanks! Also- Anyone on here running Conti Extreme Contact DW's? looks like the best value in ultra-performance summer rubber... 780ish for 4 vs 1300ish for pilot super sports... Car and Driver loved them too. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...tact-dw-page-6 |

Conti dw arent enough for this car. I had them on a civic and liked them, but this car needs more grip. You need the highest performing summer tire you can get. The contis that came with the car were contisportcontact. I run those and i do think they are louder than the michelins. I just got a good deal and im happy with the grip.

Quotes from it: "The wet half had us gushing. It was by far the handiest tire on the irrigated autocross and secured a marginal, 0.1-second victory over the Michelin. This tire did as it was told every time. “Excellent wet performance!” declared Geswein. Communication was top-notch, which earned the Conti a subjective perfect 10 in the wet. It also earned top honors in ride comfort and noise, and it was the most affordable radial in this test, at $133 per tire. The DW performed clean dry runs with no nicked cones, though we applied more steering corrections than expected. More than any other tire in the dry, this DW was resilient when driven aggressively. Grip fell off predictably, and holding the edge of performance was easy. Recovery from a slide was also quick work. I dont know what driving a ecnonbox honda civic tells you, but if C&D gives them that praise, and EAS uses them on their VF620 S/C'd M3, i think they are just fine... |

I have run Conti DW on my turbo 99 M3 and found them unexceptional. I'd call them a nice cruiser tire. In fact, I just bought a set for my wife's 08 535xi wagon to replace the Michelin PSS that I put on it 2-3 years earlier. And when the PSS on my 08 M3 go, I will probably try another tire instead and it won't be a DW. But if you want a good cruiser tire, the DW is a good choice. They are light also.

No offense intended... Guess i came across harsher than I intended. To reiterate the position i'm taking, if you do happen to read the article, you'll note the scientific approach to testing 9 tire types side by side with the same car in the same conditions, with highly experienced drivers. All in, a very reasonable way to draw conclusions. Every ones opinion will vary, and I respect that, but without access to the same equipment, budget, and testing regimen as C&D has, i'll hold their conclusions in high regard. Again, no offense was intended, apology extended.

Yes. I am actually running the Nitto NT555R in the rear on the street and at the strip, in 275/40/17, with Dunlop Z2 255/40/17 fronts. Did 11.47 at 133+ mph a few weeks ago on the Nittos. Expecting to go lower in the 11s and over 135 mph this year. Sometimes also running the Hoosier drag radials that Chris uses.

I'll bring my 08M3 out there once I redo the subframe and diff bushings later this year. It's a manual and there are stories of breakage when the manuals launch hard.
