It sounds like a very weird Mustang. Not sure how else to describe it. Definitely still a muscle car sound, though.

Great choice.
Can you give any feed back on things that you have noticed between the 350 vs E92? Like interior/exterior/drive-feel/anything or a pros/cons list. I am in a similar boat and gt350 and M2 are top on my list for a E90m Replacement.

- gt350 is another level in terms of objective performance. Grip, power, brakes. -the gt350 feels about 700 pounds heavier and 5 feet wider. Def a consideration based on the roads you normally drive - don’t expect the gt350 to do daily duties as well - I won’t comment on reliability or dependability other than to say both cars have their weak points in terms of engine - in terms of driving enjoyment, I didn’t find them to be apart despite offering different experiences |

Performance wise out of the box is fantastic. The stock brakes are very firm and provide amazing stopping power. I felt no fade after multiple 20 minute sessions. Power and delivery is similar to the M3, it likes to be high in the revs with about 100 more hp/tq. It does feel a little sluggish under 4k. Interior is definitely not as nice as the M3 but I didn't buy the car for luxury so it doesn't bother me at all. It has all the basic functions and apple car play is a plus. Exterior wise I've seen some bad panel gaps and alignment issues, something to be aware of if you are looking for one. Even at stock ride height the front splitter and rear diffuser can scrape. Both GT350 and M3 have their own set of issues which are well documented on the forums, I'd recommend you check those out if you are considering one. But overall I'm very happy with the car. If you want a dual purpose car go M2 but if you want more performance GT350. Can't go wrong with either choice

I had a 19 gt350 and currently own a 13 e92 competition
The gt350 is more insane driving experience and felt faster. However, overall I love the e92 much more. It's just German you know what i am saying. It's like I am in love with that car and it loves me back, man and car bond where the gt350 is just nuts. The only car i have ever driven that compares to the e92 is a 911. They are both so well balanced and never get old. The E92 is the better car. If you want it to corner as well on the track all you gotta do is put Bilstein B6 or b8 shocks on it, lowering springs and wider tires. If you want it to sound louder, put a better exhaust on it, etc. The gt350 is the best mustang but the e92 is the best car. |

I just traded-in my 2008 e90 M3 6MT (85k miles) for a 2018 Shelby Mustang GT350R (1100 miles). I must say, I felt a huge sense of guilt and heartache watching my beloved M3 being driven away as it was the best car I’ve ever owned and driven in my 30+ years of driving history. I thought I was going to keep that car forever, but it was time for a change.
One of the many reasons I chose to let her go now was that I wasn’t optimistic my particular example would go up in value in the foreseeable future, if ever. I was able to negotiate a trade value of $22,500 from the Ford dealership which, considering it had two small dents from a fence that fell on the car in a storm, was in par with what I would have expected to sell the car privately for. I was also looking at $5000 in upcoming maintenance costs (rod bearings + brakes). After 7 years of ownership and this being my 7th BMW, this M3 has been the most reliable car I’ve owned with only one exception: I did have to replace the throttle body actuators during the first year of ownership. Since then, it's only been oil changes and regularly scheduled service. Now, as to the GT350R…OMFG. Lol I am still in shock I went from a BMW M product to a Mustang. But what Ford has created with this particular car is nothing short of amazing. I am very particular about build quality but so far, I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the interior. Yes, my 13-year-old M3’s interior is still superior, but not by as much as I was expecting. Long term, I do see myself returning to the e90 M3 platform at some point, especially with the direction that BMW is going with its cars. |
