BMW M3 DKG - GTS Transmission update

Hello all,

I am looking to install the GTS transmission update on my E92 M3 (regular M3) DKG from 2008 (European model).

I have previous coding experience with NCS and other similar SW. That's why I was thinking that I could be able to do it myself.

I've found an online guide which explains how to do the update with Winkfp:
https://bmw.spool street.com
/threads/how-to-flash-the-bmw-dct.2965/

But I still have a couple of doubts, hopefully someone can help me:

- Are all SW versions compatible?
- Do I need a specific version for M3? Or should I use a M3 GTS version?
- From where do I download/get the SW version?
- Do I need some hardware modifications?

Thank you all in advance for your help.

Best regards

Great info on the ZB# at this thread: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showpo...4&postcount=29

The files should be present in the latest DATEN. I personally flashed 7848442 on mine using an alibaba cable. Took around 10-15mins. I have my car hooked to a battery charger the whole time. No hardware modifications.

still going strong on mine after 12 months. had a strange event occur in the early days where the DCT threw an error under heavy braking and skipped gears in some sort of limp/protection mode until I restarted car, though may have been unrelated to the GTS tune and was probably low on oil. did a full DCT service couple of months later and it's been smooth since even in 41°C (105°F) days.
