I am no stranger to the E9x platform. This is my fourth time attempting to build the ultimate street/track/canyon E90 M3 and I'm hoping this time I keep the car long enough to follow through on that goal.

As I only have one parking space for the foreseeable future—my one car has to do everything. That entails a ~40mi/day commute, 100-200mi of canyon driving every weekend and 5-6 track events per year. My biggest goal(s) with the car is for it to be comfortable on street (not jarring to passengers) while being competitive on track & in canyons … I will be using a stock 991.1 GT3 to compare my E90 against in terms of pacing, and intend on building my car to be quicker.

Some of my previous cars, which shared a similar goal:

KW CS, Hotchkis swaybars, MRF subframe bushings, assorted SPL arms, etc.

JRZ RS Pro, StopTech STR-60 front BBK, etc.

MCS 1WNRs, Bimmerworld solid subframe bushings & FCABs, Fall Line RTABs, Bimmerworld Headers, etc.

Although I have been through over a dozen M3s, after selling my first E90 M3 I have been looking to purchase another in a similar spec: Alpine White, Slicktop, DCT. After ~100 hours of searching, I received a text message out of the blue responding to a "WTB" ad I posted on the BMW CCA classifieds. The seller stumbled upon my ad by complete chance, and I feel extremely lucky to have found the car.

When I have the time I'll be sharing my progress with the car, and my intentions. Just wanted to write this up really quick before I get carried away with mods. The car has already changed significantly in the 2/3 months I have owned it. Primarily just reverting the exterior back to OE with some light touches on top.

What I have done thus far:
- Chrome front grilles
- OE alpine white hood vent surrounds
- OE alpine white mirror covers
- OE angel eye bulbs
- European front bumper & removal of front splitters
- OE hood & trunk emblems
- Lowered + aligned
- 10.5" squared Titan-7s
- Macht Schnell 78mm wheel studs

My next big project will consist of refreshing the suspension, and switching up the coil-over setup. The car is currently on Öhlins, which are too soft for 10.5" squared wheels. I will be weighing the car and messing with frequencies quite a bit in an attempt to find the perfect spring rates for my desired use.

Love all your previous builds. Looking forward to this one. Between the KW CS, JRZ RS PRO and MCS 1WNR which one has come closest to meeting your do-everything criteria?

Cheers!

Thus far I would have to say the MCS 1WNRs with the JRZ RS Pros being a close second. They both rode as good if not better than my current Öhlins R/T (which ride better than factory imo) — ontop of them performing incredibly. The MCS however are slightly easier to service, cheaper, and I like the added simplicity of 1-way vs. 2-way. Plus, with the 1WNR you can always send it in to be rebuilt into a 2WRR.

Very much a fan of chrome grilles.

Do the solid subframe bushings add NVH noticeably? How does it compare to an F80 that's got its rear subframe bolted to the chassis from factory?

Engine mounts, transmission mounts and differential mounts add the most. Front control arm bushings add some, but subframe does nothing for NVH from my experiences. I think solid subframe bushings provide a similar effect to subframe bolted to chassis.
